Hope Leenock can train with MKP or sC because as good as his overall play is, his early game defense usually is not on par with the rest of his play. I really hope by early game you mean just bunker rushes? Because I have never, I mean never seen Leenock outright die to hellion harrass which is the most common. Or any other early game timing. I mean fuck that he even shut down mvps proxies. Infact I remember the slayers guys coming out with the marine hellion drop timing that got crushed so hard they stopped doing it. They did it to other players really well and even transitioned to that mass BFH mm style that he destroyed so royally the first time it was used in the GSL iirc, it went out of style faster than the latest smartphone. Yeah bunker rushes. The thing is he some times dies (by die %I mean just lose the hatch, even if the game is not over) to simple one rax pressure. A hard 11/11 with 2-4 scv pulled could hurt him a lot, and I'm sure bonjwakji will do some of those. I agree about 11/11 for example, but regular bunker rush defense is something i'd consider a strength from Leenock of late. Unless you can point me to examples of him losing to them.... MKP series maybe? 'cause i can't think of anything. His TvZ record since June is like over 75% or something ridiculous. Well, the game on dual sight vs MMA, and another one after that...don't remember, was it MVP ?

It´s sc2 and not mma or boxing. Outplayed? It was a wonderful back and forth semifinal with the closest possible score of 3:2. Yeah, MVP got outplayed seriously -.- . I am really happy Leenock won and that he finally shows his skills, but stop overhyping after two tourneys please... I've always related sc2 more to tennis than boxing/mma since those incorporate set fights with the rank on the line, whereas tennis incorporates a flexible points and ranking system into the multitude of tournaments provided to the players to compete in. In this case, MVP is still raking in the ranking points. Hypothetically Leenock would be making an enormous rush into the top 10, probably nabbing a top 5 spot off the back of (potentially) two 'grand slam-ish' events. But his rank before the last few weeks was only middle ground. That's how I rank sc2 in my mind. Sort of combination of recent results and consistency for a certain time.
Yeah I think that's a better analogy.

It was like "ho, he's losing his hatch again ?" But I think he won this one at the end. So much starcraft these days it's hard :o But anyway, before that I'm with you, I think he was one of the best anti 11/11 players (you have to be to be a top zerg anyway, well unless you're Losira). It seems that the 11/11 is so rare now that it can surprise zerg players, well that's a theory at least.

I feeling a bonjwa mod edit coming.

This series was actually not the best of all time, for sure. Games 3-5 were actually very interesting, but also extremely one-sided in the end and had to do with a lot of "huge" mistakes. If they kept producing games like 1 and 2, it would certainly have been right at the top.

Originally used as a nickname for JulyZerg. So his nickname is bonjwa, but he's not a bonjwa. What??? Not established in the time of Boxer, oov, or Nada. Retroactively applied after savior's rise. Even more WHAT???
Even the way it is used now, its kinda demeaning to older players because it kind of implies they didn't have as strong of competition back in the times of boxer, oov, nada, or savior ... Savior is the first one to be considered Bonjwa dude...July never even had a period of total domination to be considered a bonjwa -_- See this is exactly my point. July was the first one to be called a bonjwa. Savior was the first one to be considered a bonjwa. And then people retroactively applied bonjwa status to past players. Do you see how stupid that is? Edit - And you know what, because the term bonjwa is so stupid, I'm just going to follow SC2 trends. Leenock for the new bonjwa. MVP no longer bonjwa.
In that case, I suggest we pretty much never use that word again.
Problem solved.
But bonjwa just seems like a more gosu way of saying "legend" in current SC lingo, I reckon, much to the ire of many.

If you want a word to describe Leenock, i would suggest 'in form'. Dunno if you use that in America or whatever, but down here we use it for mostly Rugby players. Like if one player or team is dominating at a certain point in time then they're in form, or the form team of the competition. The key here is that form is temporary. Class is permanent.
If you want to talk about banjos, then you're looking for form AND class over a long ass period of time. MVP clearly has class, but he's been in and out of form pretty drastically what with his code A drop and his shitty TvP. Leenock is really only in form now. And i can happily say he's the form player of SC2 even if he loses the final.
Expect many players to move in and out of form, and with a game as volatile as this, and with Blizzard still patching, this will continue on for some time.

So much bonjwa talk in a series where the supposed bonjwa loses? (Kinda weird eventhough MVP is my favourite player)

In retrospect, I don't see why MVP didn't do a bit more of the builds he used with such great success against Nestea. I guess it's just these maps though.

Words change meaning over time. The original use of "bonjwa" in the Starcraft scene (a nickname) is not the same as the colloquial use in Korean usage (a self-distinguishing first person pronoun), which is in turn not the same as the current use (a mark of designation). Similarly the word "banjo" was originally meant to be derogatory, but now is almost affectionate.
You confuse an etymologist (someone who details the history of words) with a prescriptivist (someone who thinks there is a "correct" way to use language).

He is currently the best player at the moment (for the past 2 weeks at least) and is a HUGE favorite in the finals this Saturday.
EDIT: Having said that if Leenock were to play Mvp again, I'll still root for Mvp. You just don't root against MVP man.
I think you can cite Leenock as being the most in-form player in the world right now, but MVP is still the undisputed #1. You just can't argue with the consistency he's shown in the last half of the year, no one else has matched that.
