Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly:
- NO Balance Whine. - NO Player Bashing. - NO Caster Bashing. - NO BM whatsoever.
Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment. |

Naniwa in the last game was attempting to adjust to the mindgames, assuming that Leenock would in fact mindgame and open hatch first (as somebody suggested he might do to super mindgame Naniwa) except Leenock did not. He didn't think that far ahead, it was in fact more of a case of "When in doubt, cheese, always get another shot anyway if it fails". Played to win, won, but was not the better player imo.
Sorry, I disagree.
Leenock had a 3-1 lead and scouted the nexus first. The risk of quick roaches was low, at worst he loses on moves onto game 6 with a one game lead.
The onus on Naniwa is to adjust and change his build, and force Leenock to second-guess himself.
Naniwa's only real failing was not playing an alternative opening earlier in the series. He had a fast expand opening that he was obviously very, very confident in, but had one vulnerability that forced zerg to at least semi-all-in.
It reminds me with IdrA struggled against Thorzain, until he 2-0 him at IPL when he realized "oh yeah, I'm supposed to make it risky for Terran or Toss to fast expand."

I take no credit away from Leenok. He exploited naniwas only weakness and you play this game to win not to give crowds entertainting games. Leenok is an absolutily amazing player and I am happy for him!
I guess I am really upset because I wanted Naniwa to throw the victory in all the haters face. All the people saying even though he beat Nestea TWICE in a bo3 that he is a noob, scrub that can't even get past the round 1 in Code A.
The behaviour of the MLG crowd, Reddit and TL should fucking be ashamed of themselves. You all hold Naniwa so accountable for his actions but look at your fucking self.
I can't wait for Dreamhack where I and alot of other swedes will be. Fuck I am gonna scream my lungs out for you Naniwa! Atleast he has a Code S spot now and I think we will be able to see our first foreigner Code S champion pretty soon. I hold those who get paid to play a game to high standards. I'm sorry if you don't like Nani getting boo'd, but it's hypocritical to be BM to Nestea and to the tournament and expect everyone to be completely respectful to him. Bollocks. Naniwa didn't bm Nestea, he did a little thumbs down ceremony when he beat him big whoop we've seen it done a hundred times. Booing a player on stage is fucking unacceptable imo. Maybe you didnt catch Naniwa's interview where he basically called Nestea a trash player. He goes out of his way to trash Nestea which is hilarious because the dude has won 2 gsl championships. Its also funny that a code A player calls out a two time GSL champ. Well at least Naniwa got his poor mans Code S spot. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=287295Maybe you didn't catch the bit where he apologised and said that it was never his intention to insult Nestea. Maybe you didnt catch him trashing MLG during a game either. Dude has zero class and nobody can blame fans for booing him. Apologised for the miscommunication. Because that's what it was; he didn't apologise for calling Professor Tea an idiot, he apologised for appearing to when he really didn't mean to. I saw him calling MLG a joke tournament. As I pointed out, Idra has done the same and worse and he still gets some of the loudest support. This is why you shouldn't bother too much defending Naniwa from people. People have a right to feel he's BM, which he certainly has shown to be. While the Nestea incident may have been a miscommunication, people are less willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because of his history. However, as with the Idra example, if Naniwa can keep up his success, he'll be just as popular, if not more popular than Idra. You can't, however, expect him to be as popular as players as good or better than him, who are also friendlier, more outgoing, and interact with their fans better.
True, but booing at such a good player is just immature, bm or not. Naniwa has better results than Idra but you don't see the crowd at Dreamhack etc booing at him, even though he is at least as bm.

I just cannot fathom why anyone would be angry at the fans for booing an unlikable person. Real mature. ..nope. The Idra thing was just context; calling a tournament a joke when you are frustrated is hardly a capital fucking crime. 'joke tournament' is no worse than 'CHILL GET OUT' and we all found that funny at the time. And a lack of maturity is precisely what I am angry at...I would be exceptionally happy if we never heard booing from an MLG crowd again. I seem to remember being treated like shit by fans for little to no reason was one of the reasons Cruncher quit the game (he also got booed at MLG, iirc). Just to clarify; in the interview i don't remember him calling Nestea a trash player. I think he just said he wasn't as good as he thought he was and he thought the drone pull on TDA was idiotic. Not that Nestea himself was idiotic; Artosis of course blew it all out of proportion to try hype up a match.
The booing was absolutely ridiculous.

Him and Huk shows that koreans are not special and that foreigners with the same training partners/schedules can beat any of the top koreans. Then we have the master mind Stephano who is just a natural born killer.
All this flak for not kissing everyones ass is so sad. Naniwa is just speaking his mind. I bet all the koreans there gave Leenock tips of how to beat Naniwas usual build cause all koreans think so highly of themselves(DRG wasn´t even rooting for his teammate)...
I recall Idra saying that the koreans were hypocrites(spelling) and that they were at least as BM as himself except for when the public were watching... This makes it even more disgusting when people are booing Naniwa for not even being that BM. you just hate koreans that's all. Actually, the top players aren't even playing sc2 in korea. Huk and Nani has had some success sure, but they are only a few people that can compete with Koreans atm. And korea is one country, god forbid they lose. why are you only bringing up Koreans, when in the crowd I saw a bunch of non Koreans booing Naniwa? No I just like underdogs(foreigners) winning. I also hate the high and mighty mentality of the koreans. All the time you hear that Koreans are so special etc and they have a gift(which I also believe they think themselves) when it comes to gaming. It´s pretty apperent that they only want koreans to win every competition regardless of the team because they have so huge E-sport egos. When in fact... They have a player pool of 12h/day grinding players that probably are as large as USA/Europe combined. In Europe very few will be full time players in any E-sport for example, and yet the few that play as much as the koreans can beat the top koreans(SaSe, Naniwa, Thorzain, Haypro and formerly Jinro to just name a few swedes). Or how about the wonder boy Stephano who even declared that he I´snt gonna keep playing more than a year. I´m just happy that people maybe are starting to understand that Koreans doesn´t have(if any) genetic advantage over foreigners when it comes to be good at E-sport... Else they would have kicked the world´s asses in WoW and CS as well. cliffs: I think koreans have huge egos when it comes to E-sport and looks down on the rest of the world cause they think they are "special". I however love when the very very few professional foreign players beats them. Considering how few they are it is worth mentioning that the ones who live in Korea also kicks ass. Huk, SaSe and Naniwa have all showed how little time they need with the same training conditions as so many koreans have to be able to beat the top koreans. FLAK ON
Nowhere do Koreans go around saying "WE ARE SPECIAL FEAR US"
SHOW ME WHERE THEY DO SAY THAT?
You are indeed a racist.
Also, the top korean players like flash etc aren't the top because they just play alot, they are talented.
Playing alot is a GIVEN. What separates a good pro from the cream of the crop like bisu/flash/Jaedong is their talent.
So no it's not just training. If it's just mass training, why don't you go and do it? Since you hate koreans why don't you go beat them?
I also love how you cherry pick some foreigners winning to say Koreans aren't that good. From what i read from pros right here on TL, foreigner progamers get paid more on average than Korean progamers. so, there's no excuse.

Good finals, Leenock certainly had a tough road so big gratz for the win : D. I watched the finals at a barcraft and it was pretty awesome
~ESPORTS~ : D

So stoked that Leenock was able to take it down. I hope he can pull out GSL Code S this season (he's in ro8)--would be epic! =D
|
IDK. But I think dancing in a suit for the crowd can be classified as a celebration/ceremony compared to directly thumbs-downing your opponent.
It's like you dunked over someone and then pumping your chest (KG style) compared to roaring at the face of your opponent.

Idra has a special way of bming people that makes you laugh or that you understand him, there's really a small percentage of people that actually dislike the way idra is bming.

I can't wait for Dreamhack where I and alot of other swedes will be. Fuck I am gonna scream my lungs out for you Naniwa! See I actually check I know what I'm talking about before I, you know, talk about it. So now that he apologised its all good, lol. He's bm and hes proven it multiple times at this mlg.
WHY IS BOOING HIM IMMATURE? Typing in caps is immature, people getting mad at booing is immature. Just because Naniwa is good he shouldnt be booed? Where is this coming from, so ridiculous lol.

yeah, how dare people state what factually happened! He did NOT call nestea an idiot, he said pulling the drones was an idiotic move, and given how that game turned out, can you say otherwise? Seriously, stop spewing shit if you don't bother to actually read the thread. The literal translation is apparently "nestea is an idiot", but is used to mean "that thing he did is idiotic"... or so I've surmised from reading this. He said that in relation to the ingame move, watch the interview people. Yes, what do you think I meant when I said "that thing"? It's in reference to that thing he did in the game. I don't understand why it seems like a bunch of Nani fans are going around quoting everyone that doesn't sound like they agree with them and saying they didn't watch the interview.
Yeah, wasn't meant to be directed at you. And no im not a fan of Naniwa, but booing at ham after such an accomplishment is just embarrasing for US/Providence. He travelled just as far as the koreans to come comptete and did better than all of them (except the cute young one).

My annoyance is that in my eyes Naniwa's redemption is complete; he went from this bm little cheesing douche to a hyper focused, first-place-or-nothing talented badass, with a bit of a temper and an awkwardness on stage.
It's like...anyone ever play Prince of Persia Sands of Time? At the start the Prince is a stuck up little bellend, but I fucking loved that guy by the end of that game. That's Naniwa to me; he's still got his flaws but as far as I'm concerned he's the most interesting 'character' in SC2 because of his redemption story. And it irks me when people hate on him, I'm like, wait, I thought we liked him now? He hasn't been involved in any bm scandals since before the MLG he won iirc, he's played really well, he was quite funny on SOTG...it's just confusing to me.

Immature for saying people shouldnt boo at a player who just accomplished maybe the best result a foreigner have ever done? No immature for being mad at fans for booing. Fans can boo whoever the hell they please and who can blame them for booing Naniwa after his actions. Also maybe you should check your facts before claiming Naniwa had the best result a foreigner had. Pretty sure Huk WINNING mlg would be a better pick lol. And we can boo whatever crowd we want for booing. Silly how this arguemnt can go round and round... No you have no reason to be upset. Why are you so mad that people dont like Naniwa. Booing is just a dick move. Someone who literally makes a living off of support is up on a stage playing some of the most important games of his career and some guys anonymous in the crowd loudly and publicly hate on him while he's trying to do it; those guys are fucking dicks in my book.

It´s pretty apperent that they only want koreans to win every competition regardless of the team because they have so huge E-sport egos.I´m just happy that people maybe are starting to understand that Koreans doesn´t have(if any) genetic advantage over foreigners when it comes to be good at E-sport... cliffs: I think koreans have huge egos when it comes to E-sport and looks down on the rest of the world cause they think they are "special". FLAK ON What the fuck. Where the hell are you getting this? From the TL forums? Because I'm pretty sure, that's totally the FOREIGN FANS THEMSELVES who are perpetuating that kind of bullshit. Fuck, go read some interviews with Koreans, and stop conflating what Korean fanboys themselves say, and what the actual Koreans think. I agree.
also , the person you quoted is really contradictory. Let's say Koreans have no natural advantages and just work harder (obviously the case). Isn't in natural for them to want their hard-working countrymen to prevail over people who practice less hard?

I´m just happy that people maybe are starting to understand that Koreans doesn´t have(if any) genetic advantage over foreigners when it comes to be good at E-sport... Else they would have kicked the world´s asses in WoW and CS as well. this gotta be the dumbest post i've read in a while NO ONE thinks koreans have a "genetic advantage", only someone living under a rock and with no education whatsoever could think such a thing. the reason why koreans are better and more dominant overall has to do with their infrastructure. they have a whole world built around esports THUS more players, more people trying to be progamers, they have coaches, team-houses, better training methods developed over the years, etc. the infrastructure generates good and better players, that's it. no one thinks that koreans are genetically superior. also, your post has a lot of underlying racism against them..
I hope you are right and I fully agree what you say about their infrastructure BUT those fundamental things doesn´t change anything in my opinion. It is all about perception. I think they see themselves superior when it comes to SC for different reasons. You can´t argue with results either. All this makes them in my opinion the top dogs and that´s why I think it is fun when they are beaten(which probably comes from my cultural mentality, namely Jantelagen).
... Another example of the way I see SC2 comes in Hockey(bare with me)... The only team I always enjoy losing is Canada. Why?... Because they see themselves as the mother nation of Hockey and that it is "their" sport. As one canadian said in an interview after the olympic gold; "I would trade all other gold medals during this competition in a heart beat for a gold medal in hocket".... IE they think so highly of themselves regarding hockey and that they are gods gift to the sport that I take enormous plessure out of seeing them loose(sorry canadians).
