I assume it's because the last CMC episode before the current block was... Showstoppers, I think? It was either Showstoppers or Stare Master, can't remember which came first.

It would be the Cutie Mark Chronicles. Yeah sure it had a lot of flashbacks in it where the CMC could not be, but still they were apart of the whole thing.

I wasn't really counting it, personally. They could've just shown the flashbacks and the episode would've made sense. They were there, but it was more about the mane 6 than it was them.

I love the way they've went with season 2 in regards to the any character can send a letter thing, it lets characters like Spike be explored much more, its great!
Just watched the new episode, was good I liked it! Not my fave episode ever (more a testament to the other episodes rather than to take anything away from this one) but I had some laughs and I thought the concept was pretty interesting so i'm a satisfied pony <3

ya totally i was sooo pumped when that came about :D it gives the team soooo much more flexibility in story writing
I never liked giving the episodes a ranking. I base each episode on whether or not they entertained me. Today's episode? Yes. The rest of season 2? Yes as well. That's the hallmark of a good season to me =D Can't wait till the next one!
Just finished watching the episode. I was mildly disappointed to be honest, I wanted an episode more in the style of the previous episode, as this one was basically entirely predictable. Zechora is great though.
Also its been two episodes without fluttershy! Hopefully we get some of her next episode.
I think we can all guess who the protagonist of the next episode is going to be, assuming they follow the pattern they have set so far.
Personally, I'm not too much a fan of this episode, but that doesn't discount the fact that I still think it's good.
I might be looking too far into things, but I think there may be a pattern here, involving each of the Cutie Mark Crusaders (as hinted earlier in the thread) and I think this episode was meant to develop Applebloom as a character like Sisterhooves Social did for Sweetie Belle, but episode 5 also did some work on Applebloom and so I don't really think this episode was necessary for that.
Also, I'm not really a fan of the whole CMC plot. To me, it's essentially "They will do X today and not get their cutie marks." But that's me being a cynic. I could replace TotalBiscuit...
Anyway, I love the series so far and can't wait to see some Rainbow Dash-centred episodes!

Yeah without questions mostly her episodes that still watch this series. This series goes quite up and down for me.
