This was only about a 3/10 episode for me, honestly. There was really almost nothing going on here. Basically just "Apple Bloom tries cheating to get her Cutie Mark faster and it doesn't work." The whole first third of the episode is just inconsequential or establishing scenes. Then it's just a big gag reel without a lot of thought put in. You can tell there wasn't much actual writing going on for this part because of inconsistencies like Apple Bloom keeping the first two talents at all times but losing the others at random or just doing them for a couple seconds. In other words, the humor here wasn't character-driven or integral to the plot--this is something I dislike as I've said before. Even something like Lesson Zero is better for me, because it's still character-driven even if it's extreme. FiM normally distinguishes itself by avoiding extended gags with little relevance, but it disappointed me here. At least it wasn't quite the slow-paced bore that Owl's Well That Ends Well was for me. Also, is it just me, or is Pinkie Pie's voice in this episode a LOT lower-pitched than normal? I thought it was a totally different voice. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + Episode 6 is more or less the same vein as episode 3, only with less crazy and more randomness. Granted, neither episode measures up to 4 or 5, but it's not just "easily the worst so far." Also was I the only one that wasn't impressed with episode 2? Re-watching it, it gave some good memes for the first 1/3 of it, but the last 2/3 was just rushed out fluff to end it quickly, then some Star Wars fan service to make it up to us. Of course, all of season 2 is better than Owl's Well that Ends Well. >.> | ||

As for episode 2, while it was frustrating in a few ways, I honestly couldn't see them making it any better unless they made the pilot a 3-parter. Really, it was the fact that it was 2 sets of 22 minutes that made the episode feel rushed. That being said, I loved episode 1 a lot more than 2; I had constant nerdchills for at least 2/3 of episode 1 but only about 1/3 of episode 2. | ||

"n = 0" The absolute value isn't all that random, but they could have made some of them equal something Edit: Ok it's random, but it's the only one that really has some meaning of these Edit 2: And n = 0 of course | ||

Also i found the whole concept not that entertaining but there was some good moments in it like always + Show Spoiler + scootaloo was pretty funny this episode and, big lebowski reference was awesome and pinkie telling the truth about the corncakes was funny | ||

Just saw the episode there, I generally feel the same way as everyone else seems to - it was good, but not the greatest, though there were a few good moments, such as That made me laugh quite a bit, but other than that there's not much more to be said from me, it was still good don't get me wrong, its just the bar was raised so high for season 2 already  | ||
