For more info, my prof is a British/Australian/Chinese guy with a fuckfest of accents mixed into his speech. Its pretty insane.

Also, the fact that you find yourself linguistically dazzled by your professor, yet you present yourself as a "translator", an interpreter or sorts, amuses me to no end.

I've heard Chinese/British accents are pretty ridiculous, I suppose you're experiencing it firsthand.

English Syntax taught by anyone that doesn't have a traditional english accent is next to impossible. Although comparing other languages as unintelligable is odd and insulting. Most of the professors I had in college didn't care if you had headphones in, computers open, sleeping or not even show up for class. They understand it's your responsibility to get the information yourself.

Its like saying I can't take a course on European history unless a European is teaching it.

Somewhat reminds me of my brother when we were teens, he was pretty pedantic about certain things, including, I kid you not, standing on the right side of the escalator at the mall. The rule in england is, stand on the right side, walk on the left. My brother always felt the need to apply this to the far-less populated local mall on the countryside of Norway. So whenever he saw somebody stand on the left side, or vice versa, he would get pissed and kind of push them away. However, what pissed him off even more was when immigrants stood/walked on the wrong side of the escalator. "What, they think they can just come to our country and stand on the wrong side of our escalators?"
