100% agree with Jinro about TvT. "bio whores" as he terms them really do just love random 1a doom drop and suiciding bio over and over again (aka playing stupid) and coming out with advantages for bad play.
TvT is back to being horrible again, you can lose to people worse than yourself. With mech vs mech and hellions that could actually 3 shot marines, it was not like that. People couldn't just click the marine icon and win. Now it's back to "hey, i can just build marines like a brainless person."
How does blizzard believe massing marines into a 1A ball is better than mech positional play? It's beyond me. The argument "1 hellion drop would kill you" is horrible too, the only people making that argument were the 1A "bio whores" that didn't leave a few units in their base to deal with the drop.
Guess what? 1 "8 marine drop" can kill all your workers too pretty damn fast, so should they nerf the marine now for TvT? Except guess what guys? Unlike the hellion, the marine can actually kill ANYTHING fast, be it any building, unit, or worker! LOL The only people upset with TvT were indeed the bio whores who were pissed at the fact that the hellion was actually there to counter their stupid 1A brainlessness.
It's just utterly ridiculous any time mech becomes viable in any match-up they nerf the fuck out of it. The hellion nerf basically put the nail in the coffin for mech tvp/tvz or general hellion usage as well.
What is wrong with allowing people viable mech play? Mech was viable in brood war, and hey guess what? I heard Brood war was a pretty damn good game...
Also, FYI for 99% of people that thought bio could not beat mech, the only reason people thought that is because they never developed multiple silo nuke play with bio.

Trololol I always love reading Tyler's posts. He's awesome! Still one of my favorite NA player's (despite lack of major results in SC2 yet) and I really hope his future in SC2 extends for a long time.

Mech and Bio are both viable still. Its just a bit more defensive mech now... Blizzard took away the offensive option for mech - blue flame - which I don't fully agree with, but blue flame definitely was to strong against workers. Yes I agree with you, that a marine drop can kill a full economy line in seconds as well, but you can run away from it .. unlike hellions, you either invest in very heavy defence (aka turrets + leave units there) or you will be crippled, doesn't matter how your good your map awareness is.
I don't think TvT or mech is an unplayable joke now, just that either tank marine or marine marauder tank is more viable now. Against someone who thinks marine only is cool, he will still be crippled and lose against lots of blueflames in the beginning.

Haha you tell em Geoff!
I think the Protoss players need to settle down and see what this patch can do for them, and please TvT is not broken by blue-flame nerf thats ridiculous. Bio is slightly more viable, and hellions can't singlehandedly win the game because of a missed drop or a hellion runby.

its funny, even terrans themselves are sick and tired of the marine being complete bullshit

i would prefer an 8 rine drop in my line any day over a hellion drop. when there are marines you can at least run your worker away. also it takes more time for the dropship to unload the rines then the hellions.

And I don't know how you can argue with that. The NP change did nothing but to reduce micro and effectively make protoss go colossus every game. Plus the change made it so toss will be even stronger late late game, and zerg will continue to dominate the mid game. It really makes for really boring games and blizz somehow doesn't see this.... BTW what naniwa games was Sase referring to? + Show Spoiler + July beating Naniwa in the AoL
I actually think it was + Show Spoiler +Naniwa's Code A Ro32 matches against FXOLucky. (SaSe's comment was made Sep. 21, the day Naniwa played his Ro32 match. The AoL match against July was the 25th.)

agree about making mech possible I'd like it more to see the terran game revolve around siege tanks more than marines like in SC1. Marines are kinda "herpaderp" as a core unit: boring, overly cost effective and too multi-purposeful.

Wow, really strong post from Sase on the state of Protoss balance. I think its great that more players are coming forward and saying this. I just wish the community would listen to them more. I also wish more terrans and zerg with a balanced out look on the game would come forth and talk about it.
