Qualifier after qualifier, foreigners seem to never make it. I can't remember even one making it out of Code A qualifiers (excluding open seasons).

It was just the terran teching with no bunkers, and the toss attacking with 6 gates

I get why they are doing it, but the system is just unfair in my opinion You're not the only one. I had concerns about it because I prefer to watch Koreans. But now that some of these foreigners have expressed desires to stay for the long term, I'm okay with it. GOM know that SC2 is a global sport rather than a Korean one and that most of their fans are international, so there is a very good reason for it. Anyway Naniwa, Sjow, Select and SaSe are all really good players to represent the international scene IMO. There's no reason to feel bad about it. We seed Koreans directly into our tournaments like IEM, Dreamhack, MLG, etc. and they get paid well for it and they don't have to go through qualifiers. Inviting foreigners helps grow the sport which benefits Korean pros. Also, I think it's a little hypocritical that nobody has a problem with Koreans getting seeded into our tournaments which helps MLG and Dreamhack make more money but GSL is quick to be criticized when they seed some foreigners to get the same benefit. tl;dr It's not a bad thing. The sport is growing and they're not just giving out seeds to schmucks.
