I would pick it up because the gameplay can be fun, but the story didn't captivate me. I'm interested to see how people review it though.

i'll have to be impressed more than i am to be convinced to buy it. By all means Relic, prove me wrong, but this demo is nothing special.

This game is meant to be a shit around game. You are a Space Marine killing hordes of Orks, Tyranids, and all forms of Heretics. That's all I expect from it, and that's what I'll get.

Now after checking out the demo to make sure the controls are fine on the PC I'll get it for sure. i feel like this game would be better on a controller. trying to make combos by right clicking and pressing f just feels really weird. action games like this that are more about melee combat than shooting just work better on a controller than a PC. especially with the way this game is, precision with shooting isnt nearly as important as the movement and melee combat feeling better (which it does on analog sticks compared to keyboards).

Feels fine to me.... though i've never really played much console games in the first place. Also, I submit to everyone here the Horst Challenge: Beat the Inquisitor mission using only the bolt pistol and chainsword, without dying once.

I did notice the voice acting of the Orks was rather off. Never figured Orks would develop a British accent in the future. The gameplay is a bit tricky to say the least. You can't just charge into a big pack of the Orks and believe your God Emperor will deliver you to victory. You actually have to do a bit of running around and "herding" the Ork cattle so that you are picking the slow ones and the ones who are the most ambitious to die. The bolt gun is extremely powerful, especially if you find a good position and just ctrl + aim and shoot. Here are just a few keys that I learned from the game: Use the high powered bolt gun on boss Orks before charging in to melee. Immediately spam the left mouse button if you are in a clinch with an Ork boss (this is when you press the e key on him after you stunned him.) Hold down left ctrl - You have zoom and more accuracy with your rifles. Don't just spam right click for the power attacks. Right click a few times and then press the f key for more powerful AoE attacks. Look at the combat controls in the menu screen to see the correct combos depending on each weapon. Never charge into a group of Orks, not even in normal. You'll die rather quickly as your health bar is very sensitive to damage. Always be on the move and pick the Orks off by pairs or just the stragglers. Don't use the finishing move (e key) if you're at full health. This may give the other Orks enough time to surround you. You're still vulnerable to an attack while the finishing move is in sequence. Overall, I'm really looking forward to this game. I'm hoping they'll have a trench like battlefield scenario with Land Raiders, Predators, Dreadnaughts, etc. and just a huge killing field. Here's to hoping!

I did notice the voice acting of the Orks was rather off. Never figured Orks would develop a British accent in the future. Why? They've had those voiceovers since Dawn of War in '04 (by Paul or Brian Dobson, not sure), and they've been described as crazy fungal football hooligans by Games Workshop I hope to god that there are no Eldar to ever make it into the game -- at least not as enemies. They get enough flak even in tabletop/fluff.. They've just turned into 40k's punching bag for absolutely everything. I don't particularly have high hopes for the game as it seems generic enough (and space marines are boring :<), but my friends have said that the demo is incredible and definitely worth playing. I might get it just for the co-op.

The yellow armored shooters can be taken down by the sniper zoom quickly. The zoom felt pretty awkward to use, the sensitivity was the same as normal, and made missing shots more frequent. But its not like each miss was that costly, 10 bullet clip with a very minor delay inbetween shots. Kind of disappointed with the execution of things. I see a lot of potential for very solid and rewarding gameplay, but as of now, it's not something I personally would pay full price on. 50% steam deal, maybe. Jetpack is so overpowered. Incredible mobility, 0 cooldown, incredible damage, and sets up any survivors to a free execution. Hard mode isn't hard enough apparently.

I'll raise you and say NO FURY MODE >.< while using only bolt pistol and chainsword... (wait, i switched to the power axe in the end, does that violate the terms???) EDIT: The grenade launcher doesn't have a magazine, you detonate the explosives by A) launching more than 5 explosives B) pressing reload to detonate them 1 at a time in order ALSO, when in fury mode, you don't have to stun enemies in order to execute them, so the MOST Rewarding thing, is to wade through some orks, then when the Nobs (bosses) come along, use fury mode and just run up and EEEEEEEEE and watch your ballzie space marine rip that beasts face off Hannibal lector style!!! >:D Coop would complete this game, but we will be stuck with 5 player wave action survival it seems... HOWEVER 8v8 multiplayer looked hella fun and was the deciding factor in my preorder (besidest he Blood Raven pack since i own the DawnofWar games and free $20 darksiders lol) I could see several expansions for multiplayer content ie telleportation (warp spiders) / psionic attacks to substitute for melee powers ie fkey stun or grenades / flame throwers, death spinners, shot guns, power claws, etc / Ai waves of guardsmen/heretics for a more MOBA like experience. Lots of room for expansion!
