I was super skeptical when I saw ads for this coming out, but after playing the demo, I'm hooked.
As someone who played a lot of 40K tabletop as a kid, it feels so fucking satisfying to decapitate an Ork with a chainsword.
The combat feels fluid and is enough to make you feel like you are in a free for all brawl with an entire Ork horde. Obviously your weaponry is limited in the demo, but just from the combinations they gave us it feels like you can really approach the missions in several different ways, when you get heavy weapons and melee it will only be better.
Obviously can't know how good the storyline will be yet at this point, but from the demo it looks passable. Enough to want to hack and slash through thousands of Orks to get to the end of it!
So much fun...and don't even get me started on the Jump Pack demo. Although it seems sort of overpowered to just jet around and stomp on Ork mobs, it was incredibly fun.

It feels overpowered on this mission... but remember this is probably the first mission you get the jump pack in. I'd imagine it gets harder.

This. And also, isn't "overpowered" the name of the game? :p

Indeed, but there is a fine line between feeling all-powerful (badass Space Marine) and too powerful (easy game).
But I agree with the point that it is probably because it's the first mission where you get the assault pack.
I think once Chaos forces get mixed in, the game will have some real difficulty even with upgraded weapons.
Even without the jump pack it was too easy to mow down everything just by cycling through the bolter weapons. Ofc I feel like the orc shootas are really bad and your allies attract all the mobs most of the time which seems to be an orc specific problem. Beyond that I think there is a great feeling of enormous damage potential and fragility all at the same time if you don't spam fury.
Oh and I'm sure they will have to rebalance the nade launcher. That thing is ridiculous lol

IMO the Grenade Launcher is fine, I think it will be the only way to manage large hordes (Orks, Tyranids) on the higher difficulties. Plus there's a pretty cool tactical aspect to it in that you can launch multiple grenades and choose to detonate them all at once. It made the last part of the demo much easier once I figured out the lanes that the Orks were using.
I'm hoping they utilize the entire Devastator arsenal when it comes to heavy weapons. Lascannons, Heavy Bolters, Missile Launchers, etc. Even if it's only for multiplayer it would be fuckin' sweet.

Now bring on the Terminator suits plx.
well, even if the jumppack is overpowered, its still your decission if you want to abuse it i for sure wont use it non stop in missions where it is available if it remains as good as it is in the demo

The nade launcher is amazing so those hordes must be enormous :D I've also heard it gets spammed a lot online so that probably will get tweaked. They have a ton of Devastator weapons shown in multiplayer, I hope they are available in single player too! I didn't see the missile launcher though
Are there tyranids confirmed? I would dig that so much. The only thing that's disappointing me about this game is the (slight) lack of multiplayer options. I would love a couple more races, maps, and game modes.
I don't even care if the other races play nearly the same.

hmm.. i saw some multiplayer gameplay and i saw heavy bolters and lascannons as far as i can remember
Have you guys heard this old joke about Space Marine bunker and Ork Waaagh!?
Certain Ork Warlord has launched a massive Waaagh! and tried to capture a planet. It so happens that there was a small Space Marine bunker there. After clearing out the entire planet of opposition only the bunker stands in the way of total conquest. Ork horde approaches the bunker and there's a booming voice coming out from inside: "One Space Marine is better than ten orks!" Infuriated at this insult, Warlord picks 10 of his best boyz, gives them the best gear and sends them in. There's a sound of figting from inside the bunker and when it dies down the booming voice can be heard again: "One Space Marine is better than a hundred orks!" Warlord, raging mad, picks another 100 of his best boyz and sends them in. Soon after: "One Space Marine is better than a thousand orks!" In desperation, our mighty Warlord sends in the remnants of his horde into the bunker. After quite a bit of fighting one of the orks crawls out, his leg missing and says: "Boss! It's a trap! There's two of them!"
There is a lot of potential to this game... i think throwing in some moba style multiplayer with lanes of guardsment/heretics and maybe terminators or dreadnaughts... i could see "jugernaught" style halo gametype where the juggernaught would get terminator armor... etc...
there could be attack and defend game types, where 1 team escorts a dreadnaught to a checkpoint or something, and the defending team gets high ground and guardsment/heretics etc...
So much variation, I really hope there is some level of modding to this game, just to make cool ass multiplayer missions like that :D

Uhhh, point it at a cluster of charing orks, and shoot a bunch of grenades at them?

Well they have a very long timer, and it seems to be faster to just use melee or bolter.

Hitting reload, allows you to detonate the grenades at will.
