Okay, not flawless. There are a lot of problem areas in my play still - creep spreading, for one.
But in my last blog entry, I said my goal was to be in the top 8 of my Silver division by Friday. Well, it's Sunday, and I'm already there. I started playing SC2...Wednesday? Something like that.
I've been making a lot of progress really fast, and between the forums and liquipedia, I literally couldn't have even started without TL. I probably would have gotten ranked into bronze, gotten frustrated really easily as I died over and over again to cheese because I had no clue what I was doing, and quit. With TeamLiquid, I'll probably be in Gold soon - it'll make me feel pretty good if I manage that before I've had the game for a week. Apparently Battle.net can get confused if you go on streaks, though, and I've won 4-5 games in a row and haven't really seen anything I could lose to - even against players favored against me.
This probably sounds like a "omg I'm so awesome!" post, and, well, it kinda is. Let's be clear, I'm awful - I'd probably lose 99/100 games to every single person who reads this blog. But I'm learning quickly, I'm having a good time, and I'm at the point where I can focus on playing better, instead of frantically scrambling to macro and having no time for anything else. I actually planted my first fungals in a battle this past game, and it felt GOOD. I completely destroyed in the fight and went on to win with a push right away, too!
Really enjoying myself, and everyone here who's contributed to Liquipedia or posted on the forums is a part of that, however indirectly. So, thanks. <3

Nothing warms my heart more than seeing someone having fun.
After seeing many angry posts around hearing complaining and raging, all I can say is: it's a game. Have fun. If you're not having fun, you're probably not doing it right.
Glad to see you making progress and, more importantly, enjoying yourself.

Good blog, 5/5

Like earlier mentioned, it's wonderful to see someone thoroughly enjoy the game, they don't rage, they don't break stuff, they just have fun. It's something I couldn't really do, and maybe that's why it's so great to see someone else enjoy it so much, great read. 5/5.
If you want any help/want to play at all, feel free to add me, mayor.626

Good work and glad you're enjoying the game. Keep working and PM me if you want a mid Diamond toss practice partner. Keep up the great work

It's actually weird to have someone I know not use Team Liquid and see how badly his play is without it. I can't imagine Diamond+ players not following any sort of guide from here or something similar.
Good luck and keep having fun~

The thing I've been surprised about much since I started playing SC2 is how damn seriously other people take their games. I mean, that's not a bad thing necessarily, it's good to be invested in winning, but in my first placement match, I told the other guy it was my first placement match. He said "I'm sorry, I'm pretty good, I'll crush you" (but with a couple more typos maybe). I was like "that's fine" and suddenly he was hella suspicious - thought it wasn't really my first game, that I was lying to get an advantage or something.
Then he killed me in 4 minutes with a bunker rush. It was pretty funny. :D
Anyway, I'm glad to see all the support! Let's hope I break into gold soon! <3

So great to see a new player coming into the game and enjoying them self! And don't worry, there are lots of people just as nooby as you on this site, its a learning process for all of us

I love blogs like these. Always happy to hear when new people come into the community with a positive outlook. You have no idea how many people come around simply to QQ about imba or how frustrated they are or why "x" is happening when they do "y".
So I tip my hat to you for your fantastic performance! Keep it up! Welcome to Starcraft AND teamliquid. Hope you enjoy your stay in both for many years to come.
