Even so, I'm somewhat excited to see what this is, but I can't help but be pessimistic.

The way I play SC2 now is the way I've played 1.6 and Source up until SC2.

www.cspromod.com you'll recognize the devs as some of the same guys who worked on CPMA.

Valve did not fail with source...source was a great game..the recoil and randomness was diff then 1.6 but there were plenty of better physics in source then in 1.6...its just like bw players saying sc2 sucks and they will always say that...if valve sticks to its roots on the idea of what counter strike is and make it for PC not console then im sure this game will have great success, especially with how big esports is growing.

Just a question. What would you call it if all the newer games tournaments died out and all of the major world tournaments went back to the old version of the game instead of the new one? Pretty sure that would be called a failure. For example, if the mechanics in sc2 were so derp that all the pros went back to playing bw, wouldn't that be a failure? That is what happened re:cs / cs:s

First thing, what valve roots? buying counterstrike and mass producing it, making it great with 1.3-1.5, then releasing the shitstorm that was 1.6? Then making a half ass rendition of the game in source? Which only picked off competitively because of its predecessor? What does PC vs console have to do with anything? Did you even play video games in their prime? Or are you a late comer that has the "ideals" of the video game everyone wants figured out? Pretty sure when people (read 1.6 fanatics) say source sucks, its because it does. If people are fans of BW, and say sc2 sucks, then they clearly do not see the greatness that sc2 has brought to esports as a whole, let alone RTS in America. Source can hardly claim doing the same thing for the FPS genre, anywhere in the world. I'm very grim about this, they should've just lent resources to CSPM, that would've been a much better investment in generating buzz around counterstrike.

Anything by valve is not a true sequel in my eyes. Though i doubt Tactical Intervention will ever make as big a splash as CS

A real analogy would be this but this really did not happen. (SC2 comes out. Everyone moves to SC2. SC2 tournaments dies with all the pros leaving and everyone went back to BW.)
