I do hope Valve nerf the price after the major, and make it a luxury weapon that you could go for if you got the money. I'd like that it really reverts to the old price to see if it's still picked up or not. Just like a couple of other guns, even pros didn't pay attention to the gun viability and simply kept on using the good ol' same weapons they've been using.

Think P250, UMP mainly.

Yeah.

In general I wish Valve would adopt a style where they go for changes soonish after a major and then make smaller and smaller adjustments as the next major approaches. The teams could then fight it out on a well established and balanced meta for the major title and then ease into a wilder, more experimental phase again. If done right, it could both increase the variety of gameplay and improve the stature of major tournaments as the pinnacle of CS:GO competition.

Started fooling around with this game again about a week ago.

Biome & Abbey are great maps. I haven't had that many games on them yet, but they fit my style. Lots of tight corners etc, flanks & more.

Big economy patch is out too now. I don't really notice a difference though, less eco rounds I guess. More stuff that happens when good gear is easier to buy on losing maps.

A couple things imho:
- could still be a prank and cache we'll be re-released rather soonish
- if not they better start working around the clock to improve vertigo because it's not active duty grade right now

The Ence music kit was an insta-buy for me.
I am not sure how I feel about Vertigo, but I remember having a couple of fun moments in casual on it a few years ago.

In other news, after playing couple weeks with the eco change i think it's really bad. It basically punishes you for winning several rounds in a row which is dumb af :D

It doesn't punish you for stringing rounds. It actually reduce the risk of a team that strings losses of getting hard reset once they pick up one round.

It punishes you for stringing round wins. Imagine going up 6-0 or 5-0 at the start of your CT side. Then you lose one. Imagining that the rounds were atleast semiclose you have one, max 2 buys left, while your opponent has buys for the entire rest of the half left basically because of the money boost you get from losing many in a row and then starting to win :D. It's a dumb artificial comeback mechanic that shouldn't have anything to do with CS economy system (that was pretty much perfect already. Dont fix it if it aint broken).

First, yes, it's a comeback mechanic. Second, no your opponent doesn't have money for the rest of the half. First they need to win rounds, and at WORST you will get max loss round bonus by the time they reach 5-5 or 6-5. But 1°) they still need to win all those rounds, and 2°) you should have at least 2 full buys (or three weaker buys with famas and stuff) in that span. And that's kinda the same as before when you go through a string of losses.

The main difference is that one round win after a string of losses, followed by a round loss (effectively a reset) is not as punishing as before.

I played a bit since the change. I think its ok. infact I think its great. Theyve essentially eliminated hard resets in situations where you are far behind so the team thats rolling doesnt just stomp a game and limits how crucial specific rounds are. Meaning consistency across rounds and how will you do on average has more value.

Well even the "cloning" they did with that BR mode came with quite a lot of different ideas from the traditional ones, and ideas that had the mark of CS (such as the money and having to buy your weapons) or Valve games (the turrets reminding of Portal, or the environment and Half Life).

Vertigo in the map pool, haven't even bothered playing it yet but imo it doesn't feel like a traditional competitive pool type map. If that made sense for anyone. Unsure if it's been in the actual pro-league pool before though.

Yes it does, that map has been ass since the beginning of time. Not sure what was behind the decision. Speaking of beginning of time.

For alot of the older 1.3/1.5 onwards players. What was the most played map for you when you just wanted to hop in somehwere and DM. When we started playing in lan cafes around the early 2000's and Lan cafes+ Show Spoiler +
(with no internet mind you.. because third world)
started becoming a thing you would have a local cafe full of 30 odd people sitting in Assault, Office and then ofcoures a bunch of fy maps like Iceworld, Pool_Day, Pool_day 2 and then some aim maps like headshot or aim_ak, Awp_india

Just curious what was popular in Europe or NA for just random DM servers back then. Like you know that early period where no one knew what anyone was doing and a couple years later the Heaton smoke trick was the most genius thing ever.
