I've been going through the entire soundtrack of Skins. The YouTube comments for every one of the songs in the show seem to be people complaining that they're better fans because they liked the music before anyone ever heard it on Skins. Who gives a fuck - how else are you going to find out about music if you don't hear it somewhere and check it out? How does it cheapen my enjoyment of a song if I heard it on a TV show? I really don't get this kind of logic. Anyways, the soundtrack for Skins is probably one of the best I've ever heard in a show, and it's absolutely THICK AND DIRTY with dubstep. Fat Segal is the premiere artist they feature; he's a dubstep artist based in Bristol. There's also stuff from Skream, Crystal Fighters (more electronic), Borgore, and a myriad of other dubstep artists. Check out the soundtrack if you want to find some more shit, especially Series 5x06, which is basically the dubstepisode.

It means that this thread is gonna focus on the tuneful, melodic, more vocal, dubstep, without the grime and filth. I seriously don't know why people are coming in here thinking their all high and mighty saying how this isn't a genre blah blah blah. Seriously, nobody cares. Were just here because we want to here this type of music, and we don't care what its called. And I think the 6 pages of content is suffice to prove that many people 1) Didn't know this type of music existed 2) Didn't know their was so much of it out their. So if you have a complaint PM me, or flipping write a blog on how pissed you are.Look i'll even give you a link where you can take you expertise in Music. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=235432 Anyhow. This is what I'm listening to right now. Stop trying to invent a genre that doesn't exist. It's just dubstep, not "liquidstep." You're trying to educate people about something you have no clue about. Lemme guess, you started listening to dubstep this year?

In my personal music opinion, this genre is far less in your face than traditional dupstep and i'd never thought i'd say this, but this is melodious, which is quite a welcome change for the genre. Thanks to this i'll add a few tracks into my electro playlists.

i think this song might be appreciated in this thread love some dubstep. but i have to agree, skrillex is actually just so bad.... where is the bass? it is literally all skreetching (wow i've never spelled that word before) and noise. know your facts about production and bass tones, and you'll realize exactly why skrillex just isn't good by a lot of measurements. YES you can like his music, but that DOESN"T mean that he is a skilled producer.

YES you can like his music, but that DOESN"T mean that he is a skilled producer. But apparently people like the bass less skreetching so you can't just call it bad. If people like it it's good, it is still a matter of taste. The amount of bass doesn't determine the quality of the production.
