I disagree, skills deteriorate a lot faster in RTS games from what I've played. I started playing SC2 a year ago and haven't played fighting games since then, but just started again due to AE recently, and I'm back to my 2k PP self after like a week of playing. If I didn't play SC2 for just a month it would take me much more effort to get back to my usual form.

Also forget the properties of the moves of some of the more obscure characters.. what's punishable, how to block etc.

(AE, Vanilla, GGPO, zsnes, etc) I can verify this. I used PS3 sixaxis analogue controller and countless hori/madcatz stick on my pc. The sixaxis you might need a driver.

hori ex2(http://www.amazon.com/Xbox360-Fighting-Stick-EX-Xbox-360/dp/B000V02P6Q) madcatz wii stick with pc converter(http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Tatsunoko-Capcom-Arcade-FightStick-Nintendo/dp/B0032ISZL8/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1312088036&sr=8-23) From what I can tell, its so cheap because it is for the wii and not because of cheap parts. It seems exactly the same as the madcats sf4 stick which cost over $100, but I cant be sure. I really don't care about the extra buttons, but the second option does come out cheaper and I would be able to use it on Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, as well as the converter for my classic controller to PC. I'm just not sure if any imput lag or some other random factors come from using the converter. help would be appreciated, although i kinda doubt anybody that reads this would have experience with using the converter lol. edit: and other suggestions for sticks would be welcome

The Hori EX2 seems like a good option, but I'd say just save up for a bit longer and get a better quality stick. The cheaper buttons are really stiff...I don't like them.

Personally I had no noticable delay, I sat down trying it out in the Training mode just tapping buttons, but as far as I can tell it's pretty much instant. To connect it to my PC I'm using the Mayflash Wii Classic Controller to USB Adapter. And as far as I know you're right about the parts, some folks at http://shoryuken.com/ confirmed that it's even a little better than the SF4 sticks for Xbox and PS3 (not the Tournament edition of course)

There's a good chance that you can't connect the Wii stick to the PC directly through the converter. Best look into that before you buy it. My LK button died after like a month. If you replace the buttons with Sanwa/whatever quality buttons you like then they're not bad.
