LOL I just wrote this long comment about how this guy's ideas align so well with Josh Waitzkin's while the vid was still going. In case you needed the extra push, The Art of Learning is an absolutely fantastic book and anyone interested in this kind of thing should check it out. Kudos to Day[9] for turning me onto it initially! <3
Also thanks for posting this, it's well made and a subject of fascination for me. The books he recommends I'll definitely be grabbing soon.

It's funny someone bumped the standardized testing thread at the same time as you posted this blog, because I hear a lot of people in education arguing that the perpetuated mindset nowadays is that it's not all right for kids to every fail. They say that kids need to be given the option to fail rather than forced not to because they will learn more that way. That's a more macroscopic application of this video I suppose, but I think it's very relevant.

Denzel Washington's commencement address at UPenn in May this year was all about how we needed to fail in order to learn. Having the guts to fail is one of the key aspects needed to succeed at most endeavors in life. A transcript of his speech can be found here: http://www.upenn.edu/almanac/volumes/v57/n34/comm-washington.html.

Thanks for the Derek Sivers share. He has a bunch of other videos on youtube that are just as great.
Personally I prefer Steve Jobs' commencement address to Denzel's, but Denzel's was pretty good too =P

Thanks for the share. This is very inspiring. Though I'll probably be applying it more to real life rather than SC lol
