-16강 패배 후 승리를 거뒀다.
▶이번 경기 맵인 알카노이드에서 연습 때 30경기를 이기고 한 경기만을 내줬다. 박성훈이 본진플레이를 할 줄 알았다. 그러나 드롭도 너무 늦어 위기도 왔다. 충분히 먹힐 것이라 생각했다. 이런 식으로 연습 경기도 많이 있었다.
-You have won after a loss in the round of 16
▶I won 30 games and only gave away one game in this map Alkanoid during the practice. I knew that Park Sunghoon(TT) would perform no-expansion strategy. However there was a dangerous moment because my dropship was delayed too much. Still, I thought it would succeed. There were many practice games similar to this one.
-1차전에서 엽기전략에 당했다.
▶연습 경기에서 SCV를 8기 살리고 이긴 적도 있었다. 지난 경기에서는 SCV를 12기나 살렸는데 졌다. 할 말이 없다. 정찰을 열심히 하겠다고 말하면 (박)성훈이가 엽기전략을 안 쓸줄 알았다. 성훈이는 역시 성훈이 스타일을 고수해 심리전이 안 통한다는 것을 느꼈다.
-You were defeated by cheese rush in the first match.
▶I once won with 8 SCV's remaining on one of the practice games. Last match, I managed to save 12 of them, and still lost. I have nothing to say about that. I thought Sunghoon(TT) wouldn't have used that kind of strategy, when I have said in the earlier interview that I would scout continuously. Nevertheless, Sunghoon(TT) proceeded with his own style, and made me realize that reverse psychology does not affect him in anyways.
-3차전은 신 백두대간이다.
▶신 백두대간 맵 파악이 덜 됐다. 연습을 더 많이 해야 한다. 엽기 전략에 지지 않도록 많은 준비를 하겠다. 16강에서 그칠 것이었다면 스타리그에 오르지도 않았을 것이다. 마지막 3차전만 생각하겠다.
-Third match is in Shin(new) Baekdoodaegan
▶I have yet to fully comprehend Shin Baekdoodaegan. I need more practice. I will prepare myself enough not to be defeated by radical strategy. I would not have been in the Starleague in the first place, if I were to be eliminated in the rounds of 16. I will only concentrate on the last match.
-IEF 때문에 중국도 다녀왔다. 연습에 어려움은 없었는지.
▶(오)영종이가 전략 연구를 같이 해줬다. 많은 도움이 됐다. 정말 고맙다. 또 팀 내 프로토스들도 많이 도와줬다. 이들 모두 즐거운 한가위가 되길 바란다.
-You have been to China to participate in IEF(International E-Sports Festival). Did it affect your training days?
▶Oh Youngjong(Anytime) researched gameplays with me. It helped me a great deal. I really thank him. Also, many Protoss players in my team helped me much too. I wish a happy Thanksgiving(*) to all of them.
-추석에 고향을 갈텐데.
▶구미에 내려가는데 새벽에 출발하면 괜찮을 것이다. 중부 내륙 고속도로를 타고 갈 것이다. 차가 막히지 않았으면 좋겠다. 응원해준 팬들도 즐거운 추석이 되길 바란다.
-You will be heading home this Thanksgiving.
▶I am headed to Goomi, which will be fine when I leave early morning. I will take the central state highway. I hope there is no traffic. I wish happy Thanksgiving to all the fans who cheered for me.

-1패 뒤 1승을 거뒀다.
▶승리는 언제나 기쁘다. 연휴 전날인데 많은 팀원들이 숙소에 남아 경기를 도와줬다. 고마운 사람들이다. 그 덕분에 이길 수 있었던 것 같다.
-You have won after a loss.
▶Winning is always joyous. Although it's a day before Thanksgiving holidays, many teammates stayed and helped me prepare the match. I am very grateful. I have won because of them.
-최근 저그전에서 승률이 나쁘다.
▶나는 저그전에 강하다고는 할 수 없지만 약하다고 생각하지는 않는다. 누구와 맞붙든 저그전은 빌드 싸움이기 때문에 승부는 절반이다. 이번에는 반드시 이겨야 하는 경기였기 때문에 이겼다. 다음 경기도 이겨야만 하는 경기다.
-Your recent vs. Zerg winning percentile is poor.
▶I can not say that I am strong against zergs but I do not think I am weak against them either. Since Zerg vs Zerg is a build(tech) fight no matter who the opponent is, the match is always fifty-fifty. I have won this match because I had to win. The next match is also a must win match.
-상대 저글링이 급습했다.
▶바로 달려왔다면 내가 해처리를 취소해야 하는데 다른 지역에 들렸다 왔기 때문에 취소하지 않고 막을 수 있었다.
-Your opponent's zergling struck first.
▶If they had come to my base right away, I would have had to cancel my hatchery. They have made a stop in some other base first and I was able to defend it without cancelling.
-연습에 주안점을 둔 것이 있다면.
▶다른 전략을 쓰려고 했다. 연습 때 승률 100%였던 전략이 있다. 버로우와 언버로우를 연속으로 하다보면 저글링이 모인다. 버그성이 짙어 쓰지는 않았지만 같은 숫자로 싸워도 내 병력이 죽지 않는다. 이것을 공론화 해서 버그 여부를 결정지었으면 좋겠다. 숙소에 돌아가 개인 리플레이를 저장해 게시판에 올릴 계획이다.
-If any, have you focused on particular matter while practicing?
▶I was about to use a different strategy. It's win ratio was 100% during the practice. When burrowing and unburrowing zerglings continuously they merge into one point. Then my zerglings would not be killed if I fight with the same number of opponent's zerglings. I didn't use it because it's controversial on defining whether it is a bug or not. I wish I can publicize this and let it be defined whether or not it's a bug. I will return to dorm, save a personal replay, and post it in forum.
-언제 승리를 예감했나.
▶스파이어 차이가 별로 없어서 뮤탈리스크가 생산되자 승리를 직감했다. 지키기만 하면 저글링에서 얻은 이득으로 승리할 수 있다고 느꼈다.
-At what point have you assured yourself that you won?
▶Since there was only a small gap on how fast the spire was being built, when I have produced Mutalisks I thought that I won. If I defended, I felt that I can win with the lead that I had with attacking with zerglings.
-추석을 보내는 팬들에게.
▶즐거운 추석이 되길 바란다. 나는 서울에서 추석을 보내기 때문에 추석 내내 열심히 연습해 3차전에서 반드시 승리하겠다. 8강에 오른 뒤 이탈리아에 가서 우승컵을 거두겠다.
-To all the fans spending Thanksgiving
▶I wish all a happy Thanksgiving. Since I am spending it in Seoul, I will practice through the holidays and win the third match. After I have made it to quarter-finals, I will reap the 1st place trophy in Italy(**).

-16강 첫 승이다.
▶기분이 좋지도 나쁘지도 않다. 덤덤하다. 명절을 앞두고 있어서 정신적으로 신체적으로 힘들었다. 특히 경기에 집중하기가 힘들었다. 이번 승리 전까지는 질 것 같다라는 생각을 많이 했는데 이겨서 다행이다.
-It's your first victory in the round of 16.
▶I neither feel good or bad. I feel mum. With the Holidays nearing, it was difficult times both mentally and physically. Especially I had much trouble concentrating in the game. Having had too much thoughts of losing this match until actually winning it, it is surely a relief that I have won.
-첫 경기를 내줬다.
▶김택용을 생각하면 잘 하는 선수 였다. 힘든 경기가 될 것이라 생각했는데 실제로도 힘든 상대였다. 최근 분위기를 그대로 보여준 경기였다.
-You gave away the first match.
▶Whenever I thought of Kim Taekyong(Bisu), he was a very good player. I thought that it would be a difficult, and it actually was. It plainly showed how good he is recently.
-리버 상대로 돋보이는 수비력이었다.
▶리버보다 캐리어에 대한 수비를 집중적으로 연습했다. 리버에 대한 대비는 부족했는데 첫 벌처 난입으로 리버를 확인하는 행운도 있었다. 리버를 잘 막아내 이겼다.
-Your defense against reaver was stunning.
▶I focused on defending against carriers rather than reavers. My preparation on defending against reavers was lacking but I was lucky that my first vulture penetration discovered the reavers. I won because I defended well against the reavers.
-추석 동안 연습하기가 힘들텐데 극복 방안은 있는가.
▶내 의지에 달렸다. 연습을 해주는 선수도 이미 정해져 있다. 내가 자신감만 찾는다면 다음 경기를 준비하는데 별 문제가 없을 것이다. 이번 승리로 훨씬 더 많은 자신감을 찾았다.
-It will be hard to train during the holidays. Do you have any plans to overcome it?
▶It all depends on my mentality. I already have designated teammates to train with me. If I rediscover the confidence, I will have little trouble preparing for the next match. I have found a great deal of confidence with this victory.
-추석 때 계획은 어떻게.
▶내일 중으로 내려갈 시간이다. 익산까지 내려가야 하는데 아직 교통편을 정하지 못했다.
-What are your holiday plans?
▶I will head down tomorrow. I would have to go all the way down to Ikshan, but have not decided on what to ride.
-팬들에게 추석 인사 한 마디.
▶인터뷰 내용 때문에 걱정하시는 팬들이 있을 것 같다. 그러나 이번을 계기로 더 좋아졌으니 즐거운 추석을 보내기 바란다.
-Holiday wishes to the fans.
▶I think some fans will be worried about me regarding the contents in this interview. I feel better with this victory. I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving.

16강에서 첫 승리다.
▶처음 당하는 전략이어서 당황스럽다. 이번에는 방어를 잘 해 이길 수 있었다. (안)기효형이 승률이 좋았으니 썼을 텐데, 그 빌드를 무너뜨리고 이겨 너무 기분이 좋다.
-It's your first victory in the round of 16
▶Having never faced such strategy, I was very confused. I was able to defend well and win. Thinking that Ahn Gihyo(Rock) probably used it because it was very successful, I feel very good that I defeated it and won.
-개인리그에서 최고 성적을 내고 있다.
▶팀원들이 리그에서 모두 떨어져 분위기가 좋지 않다. 내 승리로 인해 팀원들이 기분이 좋아지기를 바랬다. 명절도 잘 보내기를 바란다.
-You are achieving your personal best in Starleague.
▶The atmosphere is not that good, since all my teammates have been eliminated. I wish they will feel better with my victory. I also wish them a happy Thanksgiving.
-앞 마당에 스캔을 자주 뿌리던데.
▶일꾼이 적어 몰래 확장이라고 생각했다. 머리가 복잡해져서 여러 군데를 확인하느라 바빴다.
-You consistently scanned the front yard(of An gihyo).
▶I thought there was another hidden expansion because there was only few probes. Many thoughts crossed my mind, and I was too occupied checking here and there and everywhere.
-안기효는 ‘실리’인가.
▶프로토스가 실리라는 의미이지 (안)기효형이 실리라는 것이 아니다. 최근 추세로는 저그가 너무 강해 프로토스를 선택했을 뿐이다. 프로토스가 실리라는 생각에는 변함이 없다.
-Is An Gihyo(Rock) a "prey"?
▶Protoss is the "prey", not An Gihyo(Rock). Recently, the Zergs are too good that I had to choose to fight Protoss. However, there is no dispute in my mind that the Protoss is the "prey".
-추석은 어떻게 보내는가.
▶고향이 강원도 원주다. 내일 일찍 출발할 생각이다. 남은 경기가 있으니 연습은 적게 하더라도 이미지 트레이닝을 지속적으로 할 것이다.
-How will you be spending the Thanksgiving?
▶My hometown is Kangwon State, Wonju city. I will be leaving early morning tomorrow. Since I have a remaining match, I will be mentally training myself even though I can not practice as much.
-추석을 맞이하는 팬들에게 한 마디.
▶추석 연휴 맛있는 것 많이 드시고, 즐겁게 보내길 바란다. 안상원을 응원해 주는 것도 잊지 말길 바란다. 꼭 이겨서 8강에 오르겠다.
