I don't know why they took him, exactly, they have Larry Sanders and Ekpe Udoh already. But he's NBA ready and was definitely projected to be a lottery player. Don't look for him to be a star but he's a contributer. Doron Lamb played guard on Kentucky in the back court with Marquis Teague. He's a bit of a gunner with a nice shot but his lack of wingspan and middling athleticism will make it tough for him. His career will go where his jumpshot takes it.

Why didn't they trade up? We had 3 picks, not 2 ffs. Plus stiffs from last year are still on the team. Cant believe Ainge couldnt work with 21st and 22nd picks. At least Sullinger kid should be game ready, I hope his back won't fall apart They just made an offer to Stiemsma, I know it could be a preventive measure only but why the fuck do they need all these big men? I'd take Steamer over all these rooks so why draft Fab Melo in the first place?

Really wish we'd stop being stuck at picking 14th. But the way the roster stands, we'll be picking 14th again next year. Oh, and about the trade assets. We pretty much lost all leverage because we have like 8 PFs on the roster. Everyone knows the Rockets have to trade people, so other GMs are gonna start lowballing.

Thoughts? http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/221892/Mo_Williams_Agrees_To_Trade_To_Jazz Really don't like Odom as a clipper fan. He was just horrible last year and seems INCREDIBLY IMMATURE... but getting rid of the roadblock at PG was okay.

He said the Raptors xD you explained the bucks ~ :D To answer his question, No, no they didn't. However its incredibly hard to judge how players will bridge the gap between NCAA and NBA, so he may be worth it. All reports say is that they could've traded down and still got the player, so a bit of a botched pick from that perspective. Jonas Valaciunas is the real focus for Toronto rookies anyways, if he can produce in the NBA like he did in Lithuania, than he should be competing for ROTY votes, which will ultimately go to an American no doubt, due to the hype machine that is the Brow.

Anyone remember when he was supposed to be the next Kobe/MJ out of high school...now he doesn't even get a qualifying offer -_- ...but I would imagine he has no problem with it. He gets to choose where he goes next. Green jersey incoming? I only have a small problem with him - he got bitch-slapped by TA. But they say TA is not someone to mess with, Mayo learned it a hard way. Doc can make him into a decent player for sure, question is - will he produce like one this year?

Might be the worst high pick since Darko Milicic at 2 big knee jerk reaction. while 4 might have been a little high waiters was going in the 1st 10 picks no doubt. his position moving from like 30th to 4th is a red flag, however. iunno it just seems really sneaky, but the scouts saw something in him during workouts. i really wish barnes would've fell to the raptors. imo ross looks like a more consistent pick but less potential. ross averaged something crazy like 27points a game during the NIT tournament, shows you that he can really take over games, something that barnes didn't show he was able to do during the ncaa tourney. that washington team won the pac-12 and didn't make it to the tournament. i think they were the last team shafted, brutal. interesting how all the baylor guys fell so low haha. and valanciunas is gonna be HUGE. i'm excited for the raps next year, because it could be the start of something cool or just another, well, raptors season...

Rumors (or at least the impression his agent gave off) is that he had been guaranteed to be picked by a team in the lottery( he didn't attend any workouts he was invited to) so it would be interesting to see if that is why they didn't pursue that more. I am so confused with Dion Waiters at 4?? Might be the worst high pick since Darko Milicic at 2 Although it is hard to tell if Waiter's "guaranteed pick" claim was true or not (from outside looking in as we are), we can say that his agent did a great job. He either bluffed and got his client more money, or he told the truth and got his client more money. Well played by him. As for Cleveland, it is too soon to tell if it was well played by them or not. Whether or not, someone was going to take him before their next chance (had they traded down) will not impact his evaluation as a #4-drafted player in a few years down the road.

God, when did I get so stooopid. Anyways, they reached for Terrence Ross, I believe. Athletic and can shoot, not terrible. Holcan's right though...it's all about Valaciunas.
