Hey all,
Last week I promised you’d get your first glimpse of Guild Wars 2 “very soon now”. That day is almost here.
I want to thank all our fans for their patience as we developed the game to the point where we can start talking about it publically. I know you’ve all been anxiously awaiting this moment. You’ll soon understand how ambitious we’ve been and what we’ve accomplished during these past two years of development. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but from here on out we’ll be able to provide you with more regular updates.
Guild Wars 2 is going to be a huge leap beyond the original. We have the best team in the industry executing at the top of their game, and I’m very proud of what our team has accomplished so far. As I said last week, I’m confident that when you get your first look at what we’ve been working on, you’re going to love what you see. Stay tuned for an exciting week ahead.

By the Gods, I have been waiting for this game. I was even starting to believe the whole Vaporware hype. But finally the website is kicking. W00t!

Finally! I've been looking forward to this game ever since it was announced years ago. ArenaNet made such an awesome and beautiful game with Guild Wars and I really think they've learned from it all and were ready to make something way bigger than Guild Wars ever could be, I hope this has everything Guild Wars needed while keeping everything that made it a great pvp game. And I hope the competitive community that grew in it is expanded.
Guild Wars put WoWs pvp to shame, but WoWs dungeons put Guild Wars to shame, we can only hope that GW2 is everything good from both games.
EDIT:
Arenanet already has the wiki setup for GW2, lol.

EDIT2:
My only regret is the death of the great race of the dwarves. I hope to see a lot of stone dwarves lurking around GW2 with their respective towns and such still around.

Time to lose more of life.
StarCraft 2 + Guild Wars 2 = gg to college and life
|
I can't wait. I've played guildwars off and on since beta and it is one of my favorite games of all time. The pvp has a skill ceiling that rivals quake 3 and Starcraft yet the game is an rpg. Even though I don't really play right now I usually log in about once a week to observe matches. I hope gw2 can live up to the first.

fffffffffffff my life is ruined now with SC2, MW2, and now GW2
starcraft, guild wars, and call of duty dominated my entire life from middle-high school now their sequels are all going to dominate my college life
|
interesting. the original definitely was worth playing (one of the few games i actually purchased *cough*), although it got a little stale after a few months both pvp and pve-wise. definitely not the same replayability as sc or q3, aurra :p
might give this one a whirl.. have they released any information at all about the game?
|
Yessssssssssssss
I'm looking forward to this game more than SC2. Not that gw1 is better than sc, but sc is still interesting. Playing in a fun guild is just awesome, and I don't even mean a good guild. My guild was so bad loool we always lost every guild battle ever. I don't think we ever managed to win one. We always had fun though, and our members all had a lot of character.

Finally. Yeah, been a damn long time.

I hope gw2 can live up to the first. The only difference is that ANet hardly supported competitive play at all after their first few tournaments towards the beginning, and made it incredibly hard for 3rd party groups to host tournaments of any kind.
Hopefully they change that around with GW2 and support competitive play rather than catering only to the PvE community.
I'm a semi high level GvG player and you're right, it is pretty competitive and the skill barrier is quite high, not as high as SC but it's up there. I hope that GW2 will at least have some form of really high level PvP to it, in a format that doesn't have the same problems as GvG does currently for tiebreaker/ending matches. They say they'll have a GvG-like format but we'll have to see how much fun/competitive it actually is.
EDIT: I said competitive a lot ;c

GW2 is a wait and see game for me. I wouldn't get my hopes up after seeing how anet fed GW up.

T_T Age of Conan + Diablo 3 + Guild Wars 2 + The Old Republic + my wife being pregnant...
Why doesn't one day last like 60 hours?
|
I was thinking of getting the guild wars trilogy package, should I or should I just wait for this ?

and how many times jang can use frenzy in 1 game.
war machine~~!

I could not be happier. If the game is even half as good as GW 1 was competitively, I will shit bricks.
|
I completely forgot about this! I had so much fun with Guild wars between PvP awesomeness and 55 monk farming haha. Not sure if I will be able to play this very much with the terrible college internets though
|
Ver where are you? Should we go rejoin iQ?
I was talkin to Zrave the other day and vent and I told him I quit the original because it was just turning to shit after the GWWC.

I hated the 6man shit in HoH, that's when I stopped playing.

i sort miss the old glory days of the 6 way maps in hoh, where it would turn into a 3 way korean vrs american vrs euro showdown, often with no side speaking the same language trying to get the other two teams to commit to a battle so you could gank either them or their priest. Knowing a few words of korean and SC terms helped my team alot in those days. Then again sometimes it turned into a 30 min staredown. But yeah the ctf maps in HoH where complete and utter trash. But all flaws where genrally made up for with great GvG maps and gameplay, cept when you played war machine....oh god, it still gives me pain to remeber, let's see how they broke the game THIS week.
