This was an awesome event. Thanks to everyone who set it all up.
Pros - - Comfy seats! Not super high-end like the multiplexes, but the theater had a rustic feel to it. - High-definition video on the big screen. - Everyone around me was cool and nice. You get chills talking to people who actually know what a Makarax is.
Cons - - No Nestea for sale. - No donation box? I arrived around 3:45AM and didn't actually see one. Maybe I could've just handed my money to the organizer, but I'd rather have it be anonymous or something. Then again, a donation box would be a prime target for theft. - The actual event didn't start until much later, though it was noted on gomtv.net. Not really the organizers' fault. - Audio setup seemed below average. It didn't feel like the side speakers were used at all, so I think the entire thing was in mono.
You guys trolling that guy on the subway was an epic win. After he does his whole explanation of his Bronzyness, one of you goes "Bronze league, that's pretty impressive," and he honestly looked proud at that moment.
I look forwards to the next one, I will definitely be there for it! Damn U of T engineering decided to ambush me at the last minute.
(Also, a cute girl who's supportive of Starcraft? Maybe there's hope for this world after all.) =D
Regarding the donation box - it was being held while people were trickling in from like 1 to 2 or 3, but afterward was on/behind the food counter so the staff could watch for theft, apparently. At around six or so, I went looking for it and asked the food counter about it, and thus rediscovered its location.
