Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion.

Any suggestions on tactics to take? Right now, I've been combining relentless mocking at times with infrequent gentle reminders that I am in fact gay. But it would be nice to have other ideas, so as to be amusing while reminding people that "gay" is not a generic perjorative.
I think doing what you're doing is more or less the most you can do unless you want to get aggressive about it. On the other hand, there are going to be people who use gay to mean stupid throughout life. It's not the right thing to do, but you'll get high blood pressure if you can't develop some degree of patience for it.

I'm down I'll PM you my character code if you want. I'm always up for fun like this, its nice to get out of the closet once and awhile.
And Axero, its just a time when some of my Korean friends lined up and slapped the ass of one of their (my) friends who managed 100% on his math provincial. Supposedly this was a reoccurring thing for them. I didn't get involved I just of stood their and laughed. Not that funny really! I just find it funny, because they are all straight-shooters (at least most had girl friends) as far as I know. I had more then a few occasions where I thought to ask one or two of them, but I never did, as they where my only real life friends who also watched StarCraft.
Man, now that I look back at school. I knew a lot of Koreans. My odds where pretty good if I asked all of them. Now I'm regretful!
I have a way worst story where I once thought a (my best) friend saw my 'material'. When I questioned, discreetly, he said he didn't see anything but I'm still skeptical. That was some scary stuff, but looking back (to two weeks ago, haha) it gives me a giggle.
Where are you from in Canada? There are tons of Asians in Vancouver and Toronto! gay ones, too. like me. gaysians. lol
Walnut Grove (Langley) if you live in BC and no where that is. I'm sure there is plenty. I really haven't gone looking, admittedly. Just fantasies.

If you know where the new Golden Ears Bridge was built I live right next to it. But yeah, Langley, I live there. I don't have go to Vancouver often, when I turn 19 I might have to do a tour around.
this argument you hear over and over and over again that people have no problem with gays when they dont need to show it. it is an illusion. when im away with my hetero friends they always tend to show and emphasize their heterosexuality and brag about which women they had, its a common behavior and important for the human self integrity, would you deny it? you must understand when a gay person overcomes the social stigmata it has to pass a self acceptance process, thats the reason why they want to show it to the world and free themselves of the mental burden they carried all along the way.

Sure, at my age usually within 5 minutes of conversation a stranger will tell me they're straight. Not directly, of course, but they'll mention their wife and kids or the attractive waitress and so on, but God help me if I mention my boyfriend in even topical passing because then I'm drawing attention to myself and showing off or 'shoving my sexuality down their throat' (no that's different).
Anyway, the purpose of this thread, which was well laid out in the OP, is obviously to provide support for a minority in a community where such support is frequently lacking. If you need to ask why people need to post in this thread in a game where it's socially acceptable to call your opponent a faggot, then you are being a bit myopic. At least walk a mile in our shoes before you pass judgement.
