My starting item review used the new price of couriers (and other items). Also, I think Tango+Talon start is the new jungle way for several heroes like Doom.

Vengeful Spirit (double-check if Aghanim’s, description update)

I'll try it, but I think I'd still prefer Shiva's in the cases where I'd want it.

shivas is below basement tier lmfao

bristle shouldn't buy aghs I dont' think. RTZ bought it at wca but I don't think that was terribly serious and it was definitely awful

clinkz build definitely doesn't change

Stop thinking that the existence of an aghs upgrade justifies it as an item you build. LC aghs continues to blow, SF aghs literally doesn't exist, etc.

lens isn't good on "nuke casters" per se. It's good on heroes who's ability to fight will be seriously increased by 200 range. Personally, I feel like the sweet spot is abilities with 4-600 range that are now much more viable from the back of fights. Heroes like witchdoctor who can now open from smoke with his Q (used to be too low range), reasonably expect to cast maledict (again, range issues), and get an ult off from a safe location MUCH easier. Not that it's an every game item on the hero but it's simply just very good. Also ogre, who literally can't stun anybody without it, pugna who has difficulty casting spells on heroes without being in melee range, etc. Others have mentioned bane and I agree there too. Not necessarily a core item on these heroes (remains to be seen) but a very powerful option.

Its actually just bad on zeus imo. That hero has tons of range on his spells already and needs other items etc.

iron talon is super good but it's NOT a bfury replacement. Any hero who bought bfury buys it to clear waves which talon DOES NOT DO. talon is a nice upgrade for qb for NON BFURY heroes. Like spectre. Talon's INSANE on spectre allowing her to farm muuuuuch faster early with like no items. Also good on every jungler who hits creeps (most of whom felt invalid before but now... lycan, lone druid, furion, even LC and Lifestealer are decent speed).

I wonder how much of this is different skill brackets' positioning , how much is you underestimating shiva's and how much is different standards for 'basement tier'.

Regardless, venge extension aghs is already on my to-test list.

I wrote the Aghs idea down fast and would rather consider it and quickly dismiss it than overlook it without getting second knowledgeable opinions

I felt LC Agh's upgrade was interesting late-game as CC to render a key target useless.

Isn't Lens too expensive for heroes like Witch Doctor or support-ish gankers? I cna't recall the price off-hand, but that was my feeling when I wrote it. I might be wrong

Pugna/Ogre are good ideas, Logo wrote Ogre above, definitely think it'll be great on him!

Lens is 2300, but most of those heroes already get Arcanes so its only 1400 on top of stuff you're already getting.

lens costs 900+850+550 = 2300 in very affordable installments (and you can disassemble arcanes for it although i'm not convinced that's good too often). quite affordable, but you do have to directly compare it to force/blink/glimmer

I'd say more than 50% of the time I'd rebuy Arcanes after making Lens anyway, but the immediate benefit of having Lens outweighs not having Arcanes for a while.

And yeah, most of the time it's still a comparison to make with other items. Especially since Lens is more attractive after you ALREADY have those items (since it increases the range of items too).

Can someone justify lens on WD to me? Because that hero rarely has a problem getting his spells off and doesn't have huge manage or health regen issues.

Maledict has uncomfortably low range, but most of the time you're better served getting a defensive support item to make yourself tankier rather than Lens necessarily.

Maledict doesn’t have a snappy cast point, so you end up leading in with the stun anyways to set it up. Its seems like a complete waste on a hero that is normally used turn the tide of a fight after it starts. I am not sold.

I thought the point was that in addition to maledict it lets WD ultimate from really awkward to respond to positions (on cliffs, other sides of cliffs, around trees, etc.), ult further into the enemy line to hit more heroes, or just ult without standing on top of his own team so you can avoid AoE stuns.

I would definitely NOT put agh's LC into any guide unless it somehow becomes an incredibly dominating way to play. It can be actively detrimental to your team especially in terms of using duel as a way to catch out heroes for gank squads. For a pub recommended guide I think it would need to have a really strong use to recommend it. Otherwise it'd be better to prevent people from picking it up at bad times and ruining fights/ganks/games with it. Like even if it's situational for pro play I'd leave it out of the guides.

I personally use Arcane because it helps teammates who can't manage their mana. This might be an artifact of my MMR.
