I've had this pc for about 6 weeks I remember putting it up for the first time, and it ran super smoothly on all extreme settings. Now it would somewhat play the game somewhat laggy on all low except texture on high.
i5 2500k with radeon hd 6670
Could it be some program that i installed which messed up my hard drive?
Tried doing restore but I don't think it deleted the programs themselves. Still laggy, also very much when watching replays at like x4 or x8 speed.

It sounds like your heatsink may not be properly seated. Check temperatures with a stress test under prime95 Blend test and HWMonitor and post those temps here.

Temps are good.
Are you sure you are comparing the same game states? On low focused settings you should be able to get 300+fps early game 1v1, but later in the game you will have trouble maintaining 60.
A 4v4 that goes past early game will bring any CPU to its knees.
Did you update your graphics card drivers?
|
Hi, Yes I've updated my drivers. The 4vs4 would also lag a lot for me.
I'm not sure if its the graphics card, as like I said, when I've installed it, the game ran absolutely perfectly on max settings, (and now even right at the very start doing max settings, it's almost impossible to see units move) without a tiny delay, yet now you can even feel it somewhat not being smooth if you know what I mean by just scrolling your screen in game, and in bigger battles, even in 1vs1, it would somewhat become choppy.
And replays also use to run perfect on ay speed, and now it's real choppy, I wonder if its the hard drive, that it got messed up somehow.
edit: also if it helps it's impossible to use xsplit on my pc when I should be able to, even when "off broadcasting" on tiny settings such as 480p(just having xsplit on) it would make my game a lot slower, if that has anything to do with gpu.

Are you seeing FPS drops, if so how severe?
Seems to me likely that this is a software issue and not a hardware issue. I'd bet you've got stuff running in the background that's causing issues. Looks to me like after finishing running prime95, something was still taking up 25% CPU usage. Could have been still open threads from Prime 95, or could be something else.
Can you do a screenshot of the Processes tab of task manager while SC2 is running? (make sure you click show all processes) Also, while you've got SC2 running, open resource manager and do a screenshot.

An updated image with all processes from "all users"

Well, that all looks completely normal to me. But did you check this while watching a replay or just idling on the menu screen?

All checked while watching the replay

Then I have no idea. The 12v on the motherboard is a bit low, but I doubt it could cause that significant of a performance loss. The only thing I can think to reccommend is completely remove the video driver and reinstall it, but that's just a stab in the dark.

All right, I will try that and report in later

I have had the same issue since patch 1.4.3 and I literally mean since that patch. I did not do anything with my system setups / drivers or anything else. Have a i5 2500k with nvidia 460 gtx and never had any perfomance issues. I play on low settings so there should not be any problem.
The one thing i recognized is though that the fps drops are happening everytime a new animation or model hits the screen. So when I build my first depot it will lag, but as soon as I build the second one there is no problem anymore. When I first scout my opponents base I have like 2 seconds where my screen just freezes. There is no lag in big battles or anything just when a new unit/building/spellcaster animation hits the screen it freezes.
I did like everything possible to fix it and talked to blizzard, but for now there just seems to be no solution. You really dont need to help or give me tips, because I did pretty much everything which could have been a solution but I guess it is a software problem with patch 1.4.3 So hopefully something happens with the next patch. As I am not the only one facing these problems.
Sorry for my bad english!^^

I had the same problem with my sc2. Got a new pc and then after a new patch came out, the game would get choppy for me after the 10 min mark. When I first built it in Feb, I was getting 90-110 fps on High and then come a new patch, i could barely get 10 fps on low settings, so I think it has something to do with a new patch. To fix this problem, since its not my computer, but something Bnet installed, I installed this program called game booster. It closes unnecessary programs while running any game and my fps has been perfect in 1v1s and even in team games (except late game 4v4, it drops down to 20-30 fps). With gamebooster I get around 90-140 fps all game long. Its awesome!

That's a known problem with SC2 since the start. It doesn't pre-cache models, so the first time a model appears it has to load it from the hard disk. Usually if you've got a lot of RAM the data stays in the disk cache if you run SC2 every day, so most people don't notice it much.
It's worse if your HD is slow, your AV software sucks or the SC2 files are heavily fragmented.
Probably nothing to do with the OP's problem.

Reinstalled the catalyst drivers. Still the same problem, would also hardly run on medium settings, would be especially slow when screen scrolling in game with a mouse. Can only play on all low, but my card should, like it was for the very first time, play it much better. Sad really....

1. Try pausing Kaspersky for 10 minutes (or even stoping it) and see if you get same behavior. (if you are running KIS 2011 or previous I suggest upgrading it to KIS 2012 , just download it from kaspersky.com product updates, no big deal) 2. Kill/uninstall punkbuster and see if you get same behavior.
Other than those 2 programs I do not see anything strange in task manager.
