Just going to sling a quick review on this keyboard here.
I paid £70 for the Ducky DK2109 Zero Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Red keys. I'm coming up from a wireless bluetooth Logitech MX1000 mouse and keyboard combo, the mouse and keyboard have always been laggy, unresponsive and at worst locked keys down (for example, sometimes it would lock the build drone key down in SC2 lategame, making all my larvae into drones when I wanted roaches).
I decided I wanted a mech board even though I probably don't 'need' one, I never actually touched keys in the Cherry range but I evaluated what would be best for me and decided between black and red as I don't do much extreme typing and play a variety of FPS, RTS, RPG and other games.
The red keys need very little pressure to depress and sometimes when I rest on the WASD keys I sometimes strafe right of left without knowing, I think I will get used to it though. Overall, reds are great, I think blacks would also be good but I prefer a lighter touch when typing.
The touch of the key feels really quality, I didnt have access to touching the keys before so basically went on other peoples opinions but if you have never used a mech board, the keys feel awesome.
The DK2108 is a really basic board, only fancy elements are lights on the caps, numb, windows lock etc which is a nice touch, not a great deal else to say about it, if you want an mechanical keyboard but don't need backlight or anything I would definitely reccomend it.
If you need backlit look elsewhere, if you want a smart looking nice feeling board, go for it.

this is regarding FILCO vs CM STORM. I dont know if this was mentioned in previous 300 ++ pages in this thread. I have been hearing that they are similiar, difference is in cost and quality only. Well, this is a difference however it is more than that. Not saying one is better than the other.
Only thing better i would say in FILCO is the quality. Now to the point, "SWITCHES". There are differences in same color switches between the two. For example, FILCO brown switches vs CMStorm brown switches. Yes they are both brown and you would expect the same feel. However, this is the not case. I have had both and the switches (both brown) have a different feel to it. The CMstorm brown u can feel more of the bump. The FILCO brown less of the bump. This is more when bottoming out. the Filco brown and FILCO red i honestly dont feel much of a difference. The FILCO brown vs CMstorm brown i do feel a difference in the bump level. Both do not make clicky noises like blue however the bump requires a slightly bit more force with CM storm from what i feel. I have no idea why. I looked at the logo when taking out the keycaps of both keyboards and they have the same cherry logo and color but a different feel? Maybe at the bump level the bottom layout is built differently. Also I have tried the CM storm blue switches and they feel heavy. Fingers get tired. I will test with FILCO blue soon. I just feel that FILCO is one step lower force wise in their switches compared to CMStorm
For me
When comparing FILCO brown vs Cmstorm brown, i prefer the feel of the CM storm brown. With that said i really dont like the feel of CMStorm Blue because it feels heavy. What i would be looking for are blues with a little less force to them which maybe the FILCO blues. The brown CM storm feels almost perfect to me. just need a click sound with them. The FILCO brown feels too linear rather that tactile when brown is supposed to be tactile. The FILCO red is linear and does feel linear.FILCO brown vs FILCO red i notice just a very slight bump difference.

Yes i understand. Brown filco feels too light. but CM storm brown is nice. You should try the CM storm Brown instead of Filco brown. CM storm blue feels too heavy. I would think that FILCO blue would be perfect.

switches
Obstacles : click and bump.
Blue = click and bump combo noise (loudest) Brown = bump noise ( still loud same noise as blue without clicking sound ) Black (heavy feel) Red (light feel) = No bump or click. Just straight down no obstacles (least amount of noise)

Hey, pls help me to decide between those keyboards. Unfortunately these are the only one I can get with MX Blue.
QPad MK-50 ~ 75€ Quickfire XT ~ 90€ Tesoro G1N ~ 75€ Ducky Zero ~ 105€ Ducky G2Pro ~ 165€
They are all Blue. I don't need backlight, multimedia keys or fancy connections. Just a solid plate-mounted board. What would be the best buy?

They are fairly prevalent and give you good maneuverability, much like the MX Blues. MX Reds and MX Blacks are considered "gaming" switches; They double tap much easier since they are linear, sort of like a typewriter. MX Black switches are pretty stiff, but with a week or so of use, they become much easier to press. In the end, it all comes down to preference, but what MX Browns lack in double-tapping feel they make up for in typing pleasure.
2. How expensive are they and are they worth it? A: Mechanical keyboards come in a variety of styles, from tenkeyless to LED backlit to generic. Prices can range from $60 US to $400 US. The median price is around $100 US.
3. Are there other switches besides Cherry? A: Yes. There are several types of mechanical switches but the Cherry brand are the most prevalent.
4. Will a mechanical keyboard make me a better Starcraft player? A: No. I don't think you can say a mechanical keyboard will get you into GM, but it will make typing/gaming more pleasurable.
5. Why do people swear by mechanical switches? A: The feel. Choosing any mechanical switch over a rubber dome keyboard will most definitely make any typing experience better. It has to do with the way they activate and how much pressure is required. Rubber domes require you to bottom out, no matter what, which causes fatigue. Mechanical switches register before you hit the board with the key, taking the pressure off of your fingers and joints. Not everyone takes advantage of this ability and instead favor the double-tapping ability, click, etc. of mechanical switches, not to mention mechanical keyboards tend to be sturdier and built to last. Yes. Only a couple of years old the Quincy Jones series. No change in sound; Just a cosmetic update.

Link Common Questions:+ Show Spoiler +1. Which switch is best for RTS? A: It depends. Most experts will b-line you to MX Browns.
Ask anyone who owns a mechanical keyboard whether they would go back to rubber domes and 99.9% will say NO. Best value/quality boards:+ Show Spoiler +Value/Quality: MX Blue: Das Model S (Professional or Ultimate) - NATEROB009 places the Das keyboards at the top of the heap. Also, Destiny swears by this keyboard. As far as Razer's Blackwidow goes, it's known to have some faulty construction. Link Value/Quality: MX Brown: Ducky 9008G2 ABS Keycaps - I have to say these are very well made and for $110 have the best value/quality of the MX Brown boards out there. Das also makes a MX brown version (Silent), but if you don't like the glossy finish, Ducky is a great way to go. LinkValue/Quality: MX Black: Thermaltake Meka G1 - Now available on Newegg and for a great price. LinkValue/Quality: MX Red: Leopold Linear Touch - Good quality and a great price for the well sought after Reds. LinkValue/Quality, Backlit: Deck (MX Black or MX Clear) Link or Ducky Shine (MX Red, Black, Blue, Brown) LinkValue over all: Coolermaster Quickfire Rapid TKL, MX Brown - Great board for RTS and AVAILABLE ON NEWEGG. LinkQuality over all: Ducky 9008G2 PBT Keycaps, MX Brown - You pay $30 more for one of the best built boards on the market. Link Please make suggestions as to how this thread could be improved and I will gladly update it. Big thanks to Manyak, Tator Tot and Overclock.net for their support of Mechanical keyboards. Why did you get special cable for your K701s? And does it make a difference in the sound?
afaik the headphone cable doesn't affect sound quality much, it's the cable leaving your soundcard into amplifier that might have an effect (RCA cable?)

Picked up a dirt cheap QFR in MX Reds because one of the keys is faulty. Just gonna whip out the soldering iron, solder in a new switch and all should be good. Reds feel amazing to type / game on. Think it might replace my browns as the daily driver but still keeping both ^_^

Anyone know what the stabilizers are for the spacebar? And what else would you guys reccomend? (mx red or brown with costar stabilizers)

Most likely costar stabs but the spacebar is not universal size it looks it might be 6 units. All in all it looks like a piece of shit glowstick that is begging to be put down. I've found that the more spartan the design the better it tends to work, in which case you should go for QFR or filco depending on your budget.
