Uhh.
I've had the blackwidow keyboard for a few years, and overall it's been an amazing keyboard, up untill recently mine is starting to break down (i actually smashed it, so it's my own fault)
I don't know why it's got such a bad reputation, in my opinion it's a solid keyboard.

A lot of people have problems with it and there are better options, it's hard to say how bad the reliability is when it's also one of the most common keyboards (especially from the view of somebody who knows little about mech keyboards or brand - they're much more likely to buy a blackwidow than a filco)

Hi, I have some questions to ask. I'm Moving soon to a new place, need a new keyboard.
- Which one is better, thermaltake meka g1 / steelseries 6gv2 ? - Where can I get those products in the US other than from ordering online? Best Buy or something ?
Thank you~

Pretty similar but meka g1 has a standard layout while 6gv2 has its own one of a kind layout. So if you ever decide to get new keycaps the meka will be easy and the 6gv2 will give you issues.
Otherwise they are very similar, if the 6gv2 is much cheaper then probably go with it.

Thank you, looks like I'll get 6gv2 because it looks sexier. Now I only need an answer for my 2nd question

Can't argue with that, i'm the prime example of that. I never researched about mechanical keyboards before purchasing my own.
And i do agree for the price range there are better keyboards.

We couldn’t find a simple, clean, beautiful mechanical keyboard that we truly loved. So we created the CODE keyboard. It’s the result of a collaboration between Weyman Kwong of WASD Keyboards, and Jeff “Coding Horror” Atwood. Two guys that love keyboards. Maybe a little too much.

Anyone had a first hand look at these yet? Not necessarily a gamers' keyboard, but a nice piece of equipment nonetheless.

Anyone got feedback regarding the Tt eSPORTS POSEIDON? I like how it's got cherry blue switches to annoy EVERYONE cept you XD Really miss those, the way they feel, so nice.
It's not out yet is it?

Has anyone else having the annoying issue where as you tap a letter, in my case S and R, it doubles the letter sometimes even does like 4 times it even if I press it just once. Anyone know what is up? Could it be contact issue or just dirty switches? I looked it up on internet and someone had posted about the same issue to geekhack. Edit forgot to mention that keyboard I'm talking about is 6gV2

I actually have a 6gv2 (black cherry mx) and i want to sell it in order to buy another mechanical keyboard , i'll have about 110€ , i'm torn between blue switches and red (i already tried blue , i liked it ) , do red are good for RTS , feel like black but need less pressure ? I want a fast keyboard ... Do you guys know some keyboard which are great for about 100€ with red switches or blue N

That's really interesting, considering I play fighting games with a stick as well.
Curious to try them out for myself!

Hey guys i'm looking to buy my first Mechanical Keyboard. I've only tried Blue Switches and i hated them. After looking and asking around im 99% sure Red switches are what works best for me.
I tried the Blue Switch version of this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129006 I liked it (except i missed the 10-keypad) since im not necessarily looking for something with tons of macros or whatever.
Ideally im looking for one no more than $100 (can prob go a little higher, wouldn't mind receiving options above $100). Not that it'd be a deal breaker but are there any silent options that don't sacrifice quality/feel?

That's what im looking at atm but since im pretty new at this i want to see if there are any other options (or bad things about this one)

I've been bashing my head against this topic for the last 2 years if you want to check that far, but it's honestly just because Razer has a significantly larger fanbase and a much more active one, I want to say, than the rest of the gaming peripheral manufacturers combined. While we like to think that we more tech-savvy communities are large, we're actually pretty goddamn small, and don't really put any kind of pressure on Razer.
Just going by raw numbers because that's all I have (they don't release sales figures sadly), Razer's Facebook page has 3 million Likes versus 800K for SteelSeries, 1.3 million for Logitech, and none others come close. But the more important figure is "Talking about this", which is the activity in the community, which is 23K for SteelSeries, 10K for Logitech, and 140K for Razer. Cooler Master is a bit of a dark horse with ~300K Likes, 20K active.
I'm not saying that Facebook represents buyers, but just going by the numbers, Razer honestly completely crushes the rest of the manufacturers in terms of numbers. So as my argument has been all along, while the failure rate appears to be higher, you also honestly have to consider how many more units Razer sells than the other manufacturers, and judge by the % failure rate by considering the # of units sold, rather than the # of failures by looking at how many reviews online complain about it failing.
Razer's not only the largest manufacturer, but basically priced beside CM's boards, conveniently a couple dollars higher to give that feeling of "Razer premium quality", which honestly is pretty true. You do get something that works well for a decent amount of time, if you're not an idiot about your peripherals.
However, I have to admit, it honestly feels like that either the product lasts you a good 2-3+ years, or it'll fail within 3 months. I've had good and bad experiences with them (I'm looking at you Razer Onza), but that goes with all products. In the end though, I would still put Logitech > SteelSeries > Razer in terms of their longevity, but Razer is not complete crap like the vocal minority of the Internet keeps spewing. Because it is the minority.
Sorry for the long post!
