This was the best purchase of my life, but 80$ is expensive for 6 months use when you`re eating ramen noodles to afford it :D i average about 260 with SC2Gears. my cooler master quickfire pro has lasted about 2 years now. i think i know what you're talking about as i had a 6gv2 with blacks as well. i replaced mine when it started feeling like the keys just sucked in all the force i was using to press the switch, and just didn't feel very pleasant. How does the cm quickfire pro compare to the 6gv2? Which keys do you use? @ Ropid will look into it. Thx guys. i use the quickfire pro w/browns aesthetically, the key font looks a little weird, kind of like the font Razer uses, definitely a little more "busy" looking than the 6GV2. the half backlit functionality is actually really nice considering it didn't add to the cost at all, and it's pretty nifty when you're playing in the dark and you don't know where your hand is. the keyboard is a lot more enjoyable to type on than the 6GV2, my fingers would feel very uncomfortable after a couple hours on the black switches. probably the best thing about it was the 70$ price, which was about 30$ cheaper than the 6GV2. that being said, i didn't get this keyboard to replace the 6GV2, i got a quickfire rapid with red switches and just wanted to try out the tactile switches so i got the quickfire pro.

Excellent. This is exactly what I want to know. I'm thinking to replace the 6gv2. After trying all three keys, you prefer the browns for gaming eh? The blacks do tire me out after 20 or so games. I contacted steelseries about 4 days ago and they still didn't get back to me. So pro customer support over there. :D

Preferably from somewhere that ships to Canada for reasonable rates, some of the DAS and coolermaster boards look good I just don't know what some of the features mean (soft pressure, click pressure, etc). I know it's got Brown switches but other than that I'm not sure what's good to get so I'm hoping someone here can recommend me something that could take my Leopold's spot. If you're considering the Quickfire Pro, maybe go for the TK? You get all the benefits of tenkeyless with none of the drawbacks. You'll still have your numpad. The Limited Edition White TKs are gone, but the standard Black body TKs are finally (after 7 months) back in stock. And did I mention Quickfire TK's are backlit? There's a reason I have two of these.

The brushed aluminium gives it a nice weight to it so it sits firmly on my desk. The individually backlit keys work quite nice--I have the 3 different setups for my types of games (Dota 2, Starcraft 2, and MMORPGS). The volume scroller feels solid metal beast. Although there is software for the keyboard, it is not needed. Can just plug it. Minor issues I have are well, very minor. The instructions and explanations of how to properly set up the keyboard is quite lacking. I had to google how to configure the keys to my liking. That is about it, although the keyboard does have 18 macro keys, the keyboard does not feel massive nor does it feel clutttered. It may not be for everyone but I love this keyboard. I just leave to learn how to type on it again since keys are slightly changed from what I am use to.

Alternatively I'll just pick up a Leopold or a Key Cool 87, which also ships with PBT on order. I'm fickle, now.

Das hasn't had PBT caps and if they suddenly decided to use them I would have thought they would have made a bit of a fanfare about it, Das being so good at marketing. Also, a nice little website I found, not sure if it has been posted before or not, but it is good for deciding on what type of switch is good for you and I highly recommend anyone new to mechanical keyboards to look at this before buying: http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/mechanical_switches.php

Their successor, the Ducky Shine 3, will be released some time in August, and unfortunately they only have very limited stock left for the Shine II keyboards. You're better off waiting if you're picky about what switch/backlighting combo you have. Or if you want a TKL version. Hope this helps!
