Or coerce someone else into getting it :3

I think anybody who says anything negative about the filco keyboards has never actually used one. Until you use one you can't understand how much better they feel.
I know many people think a keyboard is a keyboard is a keyboard, but that is just not true. The quality of the materials, feel of the keys, simplicity, and size all make the filco special. I have never heard anybody say they regret the purchase or have gone back to their old keyboard.

I don't expect that to happen anytime soon either lulz

only thing bugging me is that it seems to be even more expensive to find a filco with a german-qwertz keyboard layout...
and i don't really like the idea of using a qwerty one because all the special characters are in different places

Anyone know where I could find white keys for a Majestouch Tactile Touch NKRO with brown switches (does that matter?).

Of course a keyboard isn't gonna make you gosu, but the way i see it is that from the one i have now (some logitech standard one) its gonna be a much better feel to what i have now, not to mention this keyboard will stick around about 10+ years or so and for 100bucks thats not a bad investment, where as gfx cards get outdated in months and are like 3 times the price or soemthing.
Also maybe the sound of the keyboard can help increase play, as some click and can be a reminder to keep your APM up or a reminder to keep active during a game. (at least for me coz im p-bad)

Btw for those of you wondering,
Cherry G80-3600LYC
best red switch keyboard out there

I want to say no but I don't know for sure.

Does FILCO make a tenkeyless otaku board? If they do, it's not listed on elitekeyboards.com.

Hi Axel
No Otakus currently available.

They will not work on a Cherry MX board, those are for topre switches.

They have at some points in time, but there aren't any available right now. They also have blank replacement keycap sets sometimes. They work with 104 key or tenkeyless layouts.

It's like people who own Ferrari and can't stand it when anyone points out the flaws in a Ferrari, Mechanical keyboards are a waste of money for people who strictly just do gaming. They are fine for people who type a ton but a proper ergonomic keyboard would do them better as they can type longer.

That sounds bs.
The flaws in a Ferrari are that it's not a good transporter. It costs a lot. Suspension is not really comfortable. But for racing, it's a damn fine machine. A ergo keyboard is fine for what it is but for your fingers a mechanical keyboard is still king. Simply feels great once your have gotten used to it. Even if mine is a bit stiff and I will go for a FILCO brown at one point. As in regards to gaming, depends. A Korean pro spends so much time behind his keyboard, it's somewhat important for him. Also, a good mecha feels faster. I kid you not.
I'm certain that not all people can appreciate a good mecha. Well, I couldn't appreciate a Ferrari the way my skills are. But that won't stop me from recognizing it's a fine machine and that it's nice to sit in one next to someone who CAN use it.
question: My G80-3000 has a slighty metallic sound when typing, as if I hear the springs. Is this from the build or do you also hear that with the FILCOs??

the metaphor is people are too busy fawning over their purchase that they wont accept any criticism if all you do is hype up and make shit exciting in the end that's all you perceive. As far as gaming goes people bottom out keyboard when they game so the benefit is so minuscule esp in a fps game the only benefit is that the key springs back faster but due to built in chatter delays and human ability to actually hit keys that fast it's likely not more responsive then a decent dome keyboard.

Is this from the build or do you also hear that with the FILCOs?? if you're bottoming them out you're hearing metal residence sounds like a ding with a little ring to it. Probably be worse on the sides of the keyboard. Bring the keyboard up to your ear and just start hitting keys moving up the keyboard
|
I'm hearing the sound without bottoming out. Simply happens when I release very fast. So I'm curious if it's due to the non fortified build (fast snapping back making the PCB swing) or a feature of the switches. Clear Cherry's btw.
As for gaming benefits, I wouldn't really count on a speed argument. It's more of a "finger comfort" thing than anything else. If your train yourself to not bottom out you will have nice profit of comfort and a tad of speed. Also feels much nicer than a dome keyboard. For FPS, I just dunno. The rts benefit comes from the typing like action but in an FPS, I think I'd actually prefer a very good dome keyboard with ultra short ways.
Getting my dream dome tomorrow so I'll report back ;-)
