Weekly Cup Competitions Week of May 4 - May 11Some weeks in cup competition are bound to be devoid of surprises, and such was the case during May 4-7 as the dominant trio of MaxPax, Clem, and herO all won a cup a piece.
*Partial brackets may be shown.
May 4: WardiTV Mondays #85
![[image loading]](/staff/Waxangel/misc/weeklies/wardimon085.png)
WardiTV Mondays gave us a MaxPax vs Clem finals in back-to-back weeks, with MaxPax avenging his loss in cup #84 with a 3-1 victory in the rematch. The MaxPax vs Clem dynamic can look wildly different from week to week, and this time around, it had an air of total Protoss domination as MaxPax took three textbook wins in a 3-1 series (VOD).

May 4: Monday Night Weeklies #50
![[image loading]](/staff/Waxangel/misc/weeklies/mnw50.png)
Both Clem and MaxPax decided to take the subsequent Monday Night Weeklies cup off, opening the way for sole remaining cup trinity member herO to take first place (VOD). However, it was hardly a cakewalk for herO, who had had to fight back from the losers' bracket after suffering an upset to Shameless in the winners' final.
Shameless earned the initial 2-0 upper bracket upset by getting the better of a cheese exchange in game one, followed by being the beneficiary of some questionable basetrade play from herO in game two. However, herO was locked in for the grand finals rematch, winning by an aggregate 4-1 score in a series of cheesy games.

May 5: PiGosaur Cup #80
![[image loading]](/staff/Waxangel/misc/weeklies/pig080.png)
Clem filled his weekly win quotient in PiGosaur Cup #80, blasting through the bracket while suffering just a single map loss along the way (VOD). That loss came to ByuN in the finals, who managed to take game one of the series with a devastating early-game Hellion strike. However, Clem mashed ByuN in three consecutive games afterward, continuing the trend of ByuN looking respectable against Protoss-main players but being oddly weak against the off-racing Clem.

![[image loading]](/staff/Waxangel/misc/weeklies/thermy2v2_2026lc.png)
With the $30,000 main event of the uThermal 2v2 tour coming up in June, a last chance qualifier was held to decide the final two participants (VOD). The Russian duo of Shameless-GgMaChine prevailed in the end, narrowly beating the ex-Jin Air duo of Maru-sOs by a 3-2 score in the finals.

The WardiTV seasonal events continued with the $1000 Spring Cup, which also served double-duty as a qualifier into the upcoming Spring Championship. With players like herO, Classic, and Clem presumably already qualified thanks to their copious number of podium finishes in WardiTV Mondays, viewers got to enjoy much tighter competition between players who are often overshadowed in the weeklies (VOD (final day)).
Solar came out as the ultimate victor, completing a strong run that included wins over Nice, SHIN, Ryung, ByuN, and Zoun. The finals saw Solar avenge his loss to Zoun in the GSL, quickly overrunning his opponent with a pair of Queen-drop assisted all-ins.
