Hi guys,
if you own a Majestouch Tenkeyless by yourself which of the three Switch Types do you can recommend for straight gaming? The Cherry MX Blue, Brown or Black ones?
Geekhack.org is suggesting the Black Switch keyboard for gaming. But most of the Users here on TL are getting Blue or Brown ones anyway. I'm curious why you decided that way and what are your impressions afterwards? How does 'no tactile feedback' feel in RTS games if you got the Black Switches?
Thx in advance!
edit: Beginners should check out the Mechanical Keyboard Guide on overclock.net
By the way I bought a Tenkeyless with MX Brown Switches and I'm very satisfied with it.

I'm not sure if they're actually Cherry Black switches, but the Steelseries 7g switches operate in the same way and it is a glorious feeling.

It's probably mostly up to personal preference regardless, but I would recommend Brown switches if you also do a lot of typing in addition to gaming (typical college student). I've never been a fan of clicky switches but it wouldn't break my heart or anything if I had to use one.

agree with black for gaming

The 7g uses Cherry Blacks. When I was recently looking to get a keyboard I decided on a Filco with Cherry Brown switches. I didn't have a chance to try any of the switches out before buying though, so I was kind of concerned. Luckily, Brown switches provide (for me anyway) the best experience for both typing and gaming.
Black Switches are probably better if you're prone to accidentally pressing the wrong keys, as there's more resistance with those switches than with browns. The browns that are on my filco provide more resistance than any rubber dome keyboard I've ever used, and is very satisfying for any purpose.
Just like anything else though, it's personal preference. Try to test out the different switches if you can, though since most mechanical keyboards aren't sold in stores you might just have to take the plunge and see what happens. With a FILCO though, you can't return it if you don't like the feel of the keyboard, so choose wisely.

Jeah that's why I'm asking: I can't really check a FILCO without buying theme. They are quite expensive and I really appreciate your opnions therefore.

Generally, blacks for FPS, browns for RTS FTW, I have a Filco brown and a K1 (black) myself, blues are just too noisy for me

get blacks, the browns feel a bit slippery for rts, i have an alps filco as well but thats fallen in favour of the topre even though its a bit on the heavy side.

This. Which is why I use browns. Blues are for uber typers. Blacks are good for FPS, Browns for basically everything else. I can't see using Blacks for SC2 personally, but everyone is different I guess.

Brown, Blue for RTS and Black for FPS. imo

Geekhack is a great site, but I'm not sure why they wouldn't recommend you the Cherry Blue's, there's threads on this same topic all over Geekhack that has answered this topic.
I have a Filco Majestouch "Otaku" tenkeyless I am currently using. It's the best keyboard i've ever typed on and it is perfect for RTS games. The Cherry Blues are by far the most responsive and i've tried Cherry Blacks and Browns as well. You definitely do not want browns as they are linear (not tactile)
Cherry Blues are the only way to go my friend!

I've owned a Filco Majestouch w/ cherry browns for around a year now and I absolutely love it! Like you, I had no prior experience to how the different mechanical keyboard switches would feel. After doing some research for a few days I finally decided against getting the blacks in favor of brown. I've really come to enjoy the ease of which the keys depress.
Either choice is going to be great for gaming, but as someone else already mentioned, I'm a college student so I do a lot of typing as well so browns were kind of the obvious choice for me. Whichever one you choose though I think you'll be highly satisfied, these are really high quality keyboards. Let us know your experiences with it once you decide!

I'll be honest, if I knew where there was an option for red, I would of paid for it.
And how the hell do you remove the keys for the filco, I want to switch out mine, but am worried about damaging it.
Oh, and Cherry blues are incredible, definitely my favorite.
