Here are 4 images. I was running it at 1280x768 on medium setting, WINDOWED mode.
For some god damn reason, even with this stupid setup. I get 35~50fps in town. Also the problem with jutteriness when I move my mouse is because for some reason my frame dips whenever I move around. And if I were to not touch my mouse and my screen wait for like 3 seconds, my fps would go back up. I assume this is what happens everytime I try to move around.
Some guy in my guild said this is very weird. I should be able to play 1920x1080 medium setting no problem. especially with i3-2100 and 560ti. Not to mention later high level dungeons have 30 monsters coming at you lol...
I should also say my performance decreased with 560ti in TF2, even if tf2 is badly optimized it shouldn't "decrease" with better component. The same problem, I think it has to do with the way 560ti renders or something. Everytime I explorer a new area or osmething, my fps dips and if i stare at it for long enough my fps would go back up. dipping down to as low as 20fps in 32 man server. when I never went below 55fps with smooth gameplay with 9800gt.

Thats the Korean version right? Is that subscription still? Not free online?
Also temps look fine though I cant see your GPU temps actually. Unless the GPU actually functions when not fully plugged into power and you didnt plug one of the 6 pin cables in then Im not sure what the problem is. Could be a bad driver update? Your system specs are fine so dont worry that you made a bad purchase or anything.

Yea it's the korean version, and subscription still ugh so frustrating. yea gpu temperature is also around 45 celcius when im playing.

So now I have one 1920x1080 monitor and I want a graphic card to be able to max every settings on the game that I play (bf3,guild war 2, Tera, witcher 2, me3, diablo 3, mw3). But I will eventually be upgrading to a 3 display settup (1920x1080) and I will add another gpu. I was wondering what gpu would be optimize for me now, and the future. I'm willing to spend maybe 1000 Usd or less on the (2) gpu. Also I was wondering if every game is compatible with 3 display set ups. If I'm not making myself clear I'll clarify any questions. I have no preference between amd and nvidia. Thanks in advance!
|
If you're doing Eyefinity than getting a Radeon HD7970 and adding another is the obvious choice.
|
Some games are not compatible for multi-monitor setups. SC2, for one. Presumably, LoL and the other games of that genre as well (though I don't actually know about those).
As for the GPU question. Depends on when you want to buy. If you're happy with performance now, I'd probably just wait until you're ready to get the multi-monitor display setup. At that budget, you're pretty much looking at flagship cards, so the answer may change whenever Nvidia comes out with their new generation cards, we know more about how 7950 stacks up with 7970, etc. Oh, and yeah, if you want to upgrade a single card right now, 7970 does look like the obvious choice.

FYI for ppl building a PC or w/e Xigmatek is having a chassis fan sale where you buy it and send in a rebate for the full purchase price giving you the fan for free.
only on newegg from what I know. Thought it was a cool thing, ill be adding some blue fans to a new acrylic case my nephew just got.

Hey guys,
a week ago I asked for your help, see the list in the quote below. The manual of his GeForce GTX 560 says that it needs at least a 550W power supply. You recommended the Super Flower Golden Green Pro 450W. Will there be a problem? He said the PS is supposed to be overclockable up to 550W. Should he do that? If yes, how?
On February 01 2012 23:34 chocopaw wrote:Alright, new list: http://geizhals.de/eu/?cat=WL-215319We went back to the ASROCK because it supports USB3.0, or is there a better one with that in mind? What do you think of this case? My friend would spend more for noise dampening. Other than that, is he good to go?

You dont overclock a power supply. Ignore the recommendations given to you by the card. Overall wattage is meaningless. You have to go by the amperage listed on the 12V rail of the power supply. That superflower is enough to handle a 560ti448 no matter how hard you overclock it.

Everything you just mentioned is just marketing crap.
A GTX 560 Ti 448 (which is completely different than a GTX 560, so please be more specific) uses a lot of power for a graphics card, maybe up to the 200W range while running a game, at peaks. The rest of the system listed will use under 100W at very heavy load, less than other potential configurations. Graphics card manufacturers list 550W as a recommendation, having no idea what the rest of your system is and whether or not your "550W" power supply can actually do 550W. It's obviously thus a very conservative estimate.
The Golden Green Pro 450W is very high quality, the strongest sub-500W power supply on the market. It can actually do well over 450W. Super Flower's just saying that you can run it to 550W and it will have no problems, except that efficiency will drop down to 80 plus silver levels. That's what they mean by being able to "overclock" it. This is the case with a lot of better power supplies on the market actually, that they can do over their listed capacity, for one reason or another.
Anyway the point is that it's significantly more power than that build needs.

Yes "continuous" versus "peak"
Though manufacturers dont even seem to agree on even that.
|
Well in this case they're claiming 550W continuous I think. This is unlike Enermax giving a continuous rating as well as a peak rating, for example.
itocp tested it at 550W, though not for an overly long period of time: http://www.itocp.com/htmls/48/n-1448-8.html

I dont understand how brands like Logisys can claim what they claim.

Alright thanks, just wanted to make sure.

Am I somewhat correct in assuming that a Rosewill capstone 450W will be what is needed to run something like an i3-2100 and a GTX560? Or Can I go lower/Need to go higher?
Also, I know that it's been said that the capstone 550W is very good, if for some reason the 450W version isn't, could somebody please point me to a better power supply in the 450W range?

The Capstone 450 is recommended for single GPU configs. You can go lower since you aren't overclocking but you'll need to use pci-e to molex adapters. The Capstone 550 is in an odd place since it's too much for a single GPU config and never goes on sale.
|
Alright thanks Skyr. Can a 450W (capstone) cover basically any single gpu configuration (without overclocking)?

It's plenty for running high overclocks on most single-GPU systems.

Hey there, so some friends convinced me to start playing diablo 3 with them when it releases, the problem is i will probably have to buy a desktop pc since my laptop won't run it. Since i don't know much about computer hardware was wondering if anyone could give me a list of parts to build the cheapest pc possible that you think would run diablo 3 smoothly at least on medium settings. Thanks
