SC2Tools v0.97.2 Download
What's new: - finished [Video options]. How it works read above (I do not recommend changing everything until you understand what parameter is responsible for what. I don't know what affects most of these parameters. This is simply a list of all variables is that you can change)
[Video Options] Allows to view/change video options which are in Variables.txt Gray comboboxes is just what you see in the game options Index with the text [Nothing] means that this value is not provided in the game. But you can change the way you want Attention: options are not linked ! You can change the options separately
PS: i don't add 'Phisics' and 'Textures' from game video options. Also 'portraitsOff=' and 'useLowqualitymodels=' does not affect the game options but i'll add them separately.

I'd really love to optimize my hotkeys, especially since the removal of cast on wireframe, but I don't want to do anything if it isn't officially and explicitly allowed to do so. As for being banned, well, I don't think Blizzard will scan the hash values of all their files whenever the game starts, because that's the only way I can see for them to detect the changes that were done. It really should be safe.. Anyway, my APM has dropped like 40 points since the new hotkeys.

If i use this will i get the Game/string bug after 1 match? I used to get it with older versions but im not sure if it still applys to new patch?
I currently use the GRID keys available from sc2 game but all i want to change is Attack = A
atm its attack = T
If the gamestring bug still exists ill just get used to T for attack... if it doesnt, can someone just alter the one key for me (attack = A) and upload the gamestrings plz? Im not too confident in changing all of that kinda stuff

Can u please add a way to customize the Key for selecting all Warpgates for Protoss? in this patch, its "W". and it screws up my custom keys

Here is my gamehotkeys.txt that has been altered to have A as attack. Some other small alterations had to be used when a unit had both attack and something in the A slot (Usually I just moved it over to S).
Also I changed the zerg extractor to E, since I play random I like my gas all being on the same button.
WARNING: Warpgates are still W, I couldn't find any way to change that. In the OP they said that the keys you bind to W would take over your warpgates, however that doesn't seem to be the case. Anytime I hit W with at least 1 warpgate built it will select the gate instead of doing what it was susposed to do on W. I don't think I can use these hotkeys myself until we find a way to rebind the select all warpgates button. It should work fine for terran and zerg.

After looking through GameHotkeys.txt, it looks like it is impossible to change tab (for cycling through groups), backspace (for cycling through hatch/CC/nex) and the F-keys. Has anyone come up with a solution to this yet?
Oh and control groups aren't listed in GameHotkeys.txt either.

@Tacosupreme: OP is completely outdated, so unless you need pinpointers on how to work with MPQ archives, you can forget about the rest...

You have to look at GameHotkeys.txt located inside the Core.SC2Mod directory - all the other hotkeys are in there.
@GoStyle: if the keys you are referring to have the _GRS or _NRS tags, that is perfectly normal as these hotkey settings are for lefties (that will use the Right Side of the keyboard).

ahh ok
so let me see if i got this straight... if i make a copy of the gamestrings u just posted and put into main archive i will use the blizzard default GRID keys but it will change Attack = A?
If so, thanks a lot man, i appreciate ur time
**EDIT**
after reviewing the file again, would that be ALL i need to copy as i remember seeing one before with loads of alias commands and such, in the file u linked it only shows button/hotkey
and what should i call the file exactly? and wher to place it? thanks

Is there an option in the sctool to use a specific gamestrings file and save it NOT into the MPQ? The program doesnt recognize my patch 10 and i now have to look where it put the hotkeys i edited.
nvm it works now, thanks for the program

Thank you tiler. You've made zerg usable again.
|
hey tnx Tiler and also Tamerlane
maybe a request: could you make space, esc, alt, crtl, etc useable for binding?
they can be used if you edit gamestrings file directly, at least thats what i had in previous patches, but SC2Tools v0.97.2 dont support them, only letters and numbers
anyways tnx for this again

In the GameHotkeys.txt in Core.SC2Mod is a line UI/Hotkey/WarpIn=W, I guess that one is the Warpgate hotkey. I haven't verified that though.

Ok here is first release of [UI Changer]
SC2Tools v0.98 Download
What's new: - added [UI Changer] (Attention: if you click on 'Save to MPQ' it will change original MPQ file 'patch-enUS.SC2Archive' from latest patch. Make sure you have copy of this file. Modified buttons only fully affect on profile 'Standart') (Command Buttons don't work because the variables are missing in GameHotkeys.txt)
PS: this modul also works with MPQ and changes original archive (btw same as [Hotkey Changer]). All who search for "Select All Warpgates" button it names "WarpIn". Also modifyed UI will work on 'Standart' profile.
|
OP IS NOW UPDATED
I have also added a FAQ to answer a lot of the questions you guys could have, go read it!
=> About the warpgates, it's question #3, about GameStrings.txt (or anything related) it's question #5
If you have further concerns or problems afterwards, let me know, but I believe everything is in there!
edit: damnit Tiler, every time I record a video you release another version of your software within a few hours
just teasing you buddy, keep up!

This program works great for changing most of the hotkeys, but is there a way to change the hotkey for queuing commands (default: Shift) and the hotkey to make groups (default: Ctrl)?
