Will anyone be so kind as to change the file for me? I use GRID (right handed), but want attack = A, that is all. and finally can u tell me where to put the file and what to call it exactly? Thanks guys, hopefully someone can help you didn't open the right file, you opened patch.SC2Archive, you needed to open patch-enUS.SC2Archive (it may be different than "enUS", it depends what version of SC2 you have) but since you only want to change some command interface hotkeys, you should use Tiler's tool and set all the hotkeys you want - it's gonna be much more simple

I want to use Control+S for assigning a control group, but it always toggles sound, even though I remapped Toggle Sound to Control+P (which is working fine). I didn't find any other Control+S entries in any of the GameHotkeys.txt files. Any ideas as to what could be going wrong here?

Better yet, a binding tool that binds all the unit abilities in a specific grid position all at once. Edit: Darn, didn't get this edit in before Tamerlane replied to the thread. Read it again if you see this.

I would suspect that if the Control+S sound toggling is defined elsewhere (such as GameStrings.txt), it would cause this exact issue and it is quite surprising how badly managed those files are. But otherwise, no, I don't see what could be the problem :\

But I did manage to change them using MPQeditor after watching the video on the first page I have exactly the same problem, and i dont want to mess with mpq files.

I'am use XP perfomance edition SP3 Font/text scaling is available in xp as well, and I'm sure it will yield the exact same bug. Basically, the text gets bigger, but the window don't resize. So after you click on one of the tabs at the top, the load/save buttons disappear under the application's window. I have tested this on normal font and larger font to confirm the cause. In xp: "Right-click on a blank area of your Windows desktop (in other words, not on an icon) and select Properties from the context menu that appears. Or go to Control Panel, Display. In the Display Properties screen, click on the tab that says Settings. Look at the Font Size box in the lower half of the screen. [You may also need to click an "Advanced" button] By default, Windows is set to Small Fonts, which use 96 pixels per inch to draw themselves. If your fonts generally look too small to you, change it to Large Fonts, which use 120 pixels per inch to display. Large Fonts are at 125% of the normal font size. You will have to restart Windows for the change to take effect."

The few *.txt were for other stuff and I wouldn't want to touch the other files anyways. Not because I'm scared of breaking anything, but because Blizzard only stated that we could modify some *.txt file. Ya I would guess that there is no real hardcoding. It probably is in a file that we are not supposed to modify though. A file where it shouldn't be or else it wouldn't also be in GameHotkeys.txt (it's duplicated).
