These buttons are assigned to the game by default. arrow keys - move camera, etc. I do not even want to understand how to change them, sorry. You also can use AutoHotkey.

not sure why there is a need to change hotkeys when almost all em are now on the left side of your keyboard...
I'm Norwegian/Dutch. Just the awesome parts of them though :D

SC2Tools v0.96.1 Download

What's new:
- added 'Shadows' options which allows you to change the shadows,
regardless of other games settings
(Change this when the game is not running or it will not work)

If "Shaders = Low" then you can't change "Shadows" options it always on Low.
If "Shaders >= Medium" you can't select "Shadows" Low.
My tool solve this problem :D. And btw static shadows greatly improve FPS. So it's usefull when you play on high settings.

There's a bug with the Void Ray (I could not tell if it was introduced by the new patch) :

Floating point division by 0


Also, and more importantly: all the hotkeys have been moved to new files:

patch-enUS.SC2Archive\Mods\Core.SC2Mod\enUS.SC2Data\LocalizedData

and

patch-enUS.SC2Archive\Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod\enUS.SC2Data\LocalizedData

they are both named GameHotkeys.txt (so we'll have to keep using the extraction merging)


and if you want to implement loading of the default hotkeys, the directory :

Mods\Core.SC2Mod\Base.SC2Data\UI\Hotkeys

contains all the files (the .SC2Hotkeys filetype is openable with notepad) that directs which setting goes with which suffix, here's the list :

Default=[nothing] (that would be the Normal Left Side)
Suffix=_NRS = Normal Right Side (for lefties)
Suffix=_GLS = Grid Left Side
Suffix=_GRS = Grid Right Side (for lefties)
Suffix=_SC1 = Classic

I don't know if that was what you wanted to try, but it's possible to manually extract the GameHotkeys.txt files, merge them and rename them GameStrings.txt => Tiler's tool will still work with that file.

Then you can most probably rename the file back to GameHotkeys.txt and run it just like it was before.

Can't wait for Tiler to add the new hotkeys to his software :D

yeah I wrote about that couple hours ago (if you got something new, let us know)

after a few tests, it turns out that leaving the file GameHotkeys.txt in the main directory doesn't work (as it used to with GameStrings.txt)

although overwriting the files inside the MPQ archives do work, so far I found out that my numbered shortcut keys do not work

Has anybody found out how to make this work with the latest patch? I'd be extremely grateful as my fingers hurt when reaching too far for keys

yeah, you just have to do the extracting steps shown in the video and then replace the files inside the archives (you can see how in my old video, it's still on my youtube page, it's also still in the OP)

or you can wait for Tiler's tool or you can use Blizzard's grid config (look in the options)

How do you change the hotkeys for spawnlarva for example. Some of them just are not on the gamehotkeys.txt

EDIT: After examining the xml files the Ability inject larva is actually "morphmorphalisk" I thought it was morphmutalisk when I searched for "=V" so i kept passing it over T.T.

Button/Hotkey/MorphMorphalisk=V

should be Button/Hotkey/MorphMorphalisk=R

Here's how i successfully changed the hotkeys for the latest patch:

1-Use the MPQ editor to open StarCraft II Beta_US\Versions\Base15097\patch-enUS.SC2Archive
2-Go to Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod\LocalizedData and extract GameHotkeys.txt anywhere you prefer.
3-You can either edit GameHotkeys.txt using a text editor or use Tiler's tool.
(Note: if you wanna use Tiler's tool, you'll need to rename that file to GameStrings.txt first and then change it back after applying the changes)
4-After applying your changes to GameHotkeys.txt, drag and drop it inside the MPQeditor where you extracted it from. Replace it with the original file and you're good to go.

What's new:
- fully reworked [Hotkey Changer] buttons. Now it works only with 0.11.0.15097 patch
(Attention: if you click on 'Save to MPQ' it will change original MPQ file 'patch-enUS.SC2Archive' from latest patch. Make sure you have copy of this file. Modified buttons only fully affect on profile 'Standart')
- [Video Options] not done yet
- some small improvements

If someone finds a way to change the buttons without changing the files write about it here.
PS: I am surprised that someone need to change hotkeys. I can't test all my work online because i don't have fu***ng key. Can someone give me key?

I made a thread about this exact method and was told that modifying MPQ files is bannable and the thread was deleted. It was different before because all you had to do was put GameStrings.txt in the sc2 directory and that would take priority, but I don't think that works with GameHotkeys.txt.

SWIM used this method too and it works great. Just be careful.

Well I downloaded the tool, all the hot-keys work, BUT I can't chat (enter key) or put units into control groups. Is this normal or did I miss something? Btw, great job on this program. Blizzards preset hot-keys are not good at all.

What are you exactly doing?

My tool opens "GameHotkeys.txt" from file "Versions\Base15097\patch-enUS.SC2Archive".
(Path in archive: "Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod\enUS.SC2Data\LocalizedData\GameHotkeys.txt")

And on "Save to MPQ" it saves "GameHotkeys.txt" in archive. Thats all.
Are you sure that you use profile 'Standart' from Hotkeys options in game?

guys if i change my hotkeys over the new option menu..
to grid..
