(1v1) What happened to 4 position maps which are pretty much standard in broodwar. It just promote cheez and cannon rushes 24/7 The 12 worker start in LotV makes it so that there is much less time for scouting before an early rush hits, so 4 player maps are annoying to play at best and awful and not viable at worse. For comparison, imagine playing on a 12 spawn map in BW and having to scout for a 10/15 opening in time.

The flame that burns twice as brightly and all that. Muh Wall ![]() But nah much as I bemoan the lack of Golden Wall nice to see some freshening up of the pool, and really GW was a much, much better tournament map than ladder map. Still would be nice to have a curveball map or two in rotation.

Gemini complained about that during the contest, but none of these spots are that bad individually imo--there's just a lot of them. It's not much worse than say Ephemeron. Incidentally Beckett has a fun cannon spot behind the main geyser.

I can still dream of a 2-in-1 map making it back into the rotation I've had like 5 games in a row on Blackburn and I've been enjoying it. The map does a great job of convincing me to always attack the other player by hitting their third from the north.

New maps should not be a surprise and the community should not be left in the dark. Anyway, still very thankful to whoever made this happen! Apollo did say on twitter that they are working on a concept for the maps for the year, so hopefully that means a bigger reveal will come before next season that lays out what that means.
