Also curious if this already tells us something about EPT. Will they do 3x season finals to line up with Code S, plus 3x foreigner only (or regional) tournaments to line up with super tournament? Excited to see the details.

Could someone suggest this to Afreeca? I hope this means that we will get 3 GSL Code S, 3 Super Tournaments and 3 Global Season Finals (top Korean vs Top foreigners) like we have had with Dreamhack Masters.

Seems like a desperate move to get some new blood competing without having to fear to be drawn against titans like Rogue and Maru etc.. Doubt it'll be worth the investment. With this they're actually cutting 4 more people from every season of GSL

Also i'd like to know a little more on the requirements, i wouldn't mind trying ( i remember going to one in 2011/12, there were quite a few foreigner and the mood was very special, it was like conquering new lands ahah )

For those complaining that the scene is growing stale (due to always seeing the same players in Code S), this change might help alleviate those concerns and help generate some hype for future prospects that they otherwise wouldn't have until reaching Code S. Code A and Code S combined will be 24 players each season in 2020 we had 28 players in each season this is a downgrade

I felt so bad when they were doing the qualifiers for that Last Chance qualifier qualifier, and like, 15 people signed up. Unfortunately, the skill gap is getting larger because the only people who have reason to practice are those who can win stuff. At this point, you can pretty much consider the Korean scene a set of 30 players... yea I agree, good job to Afreeca for keeping it going at all, but I just see a lot of confused people in the comments that are celebrating based on a misunderstanding

I usually enjoy BO5 more but bracket luck might make them very one-sided. What's your thought about this shift?

Korea doesn't have enough of a population playing this game for new stars to rise up, the argument that its hard to break out in a scene with so many good players makes no sense, because the number of players able to take a series out of a top Korean rises everyday.
