I feel the battles for being top16 is far less exciting than last year and 2 years ago.

Last season it felt like 12 players had to fight about the 13- 16th spots few weeks before blizzcon. I think this time only ~4 players in the same case.

So this time last year was 19 players over 20%, right now we're at 20 players over 20%. But this year does seem a little more settled overall. Last year was 3 players at 100%, now we're at 7. Also the 50th spot last year was at 1.3%, which is higher than this year's 50th spot at 0.3%. I didn't check to compare how many tournaments were completed or how far along they were in season 2 or anything like that.

I feel like the disparity between top performers and bottom performers has grown this year compared to last year. It feels natural, though, with the addition of KeSPA Cup/SSL and removal of HSC/etc.

Yeah I think that has contributed to the top players having higher staying power.

Are there fewer tournaments this year as well? It seems like I've only seen Polt play in WCS and in a couple of IEMs.
