Some Stats from 2013
DreamHack also released a long list of stats and several infographics rounding up 2013. We recommend you go to DreamHack's official site to check them out in full, but here is a short excerpt:
DreamHack Winter 2013 was the most viewed DreamHack event ever, breaking all previous records including started sessions, minutes watched and unique viewers.
DreamHack Winter 2013 had 9 official streams produced on-site and in total 35 streams including all community streams.
In total DreamHack had 13 803 820 views/started sessions (49% increase), the viewers consumed 416 065 500 minutes of content (67% increase) and 2 851 380 unique viewers (48% increase)
Top-5 streams (Peak Concurrent – One Channel)
1. Dota 2 – ASUS ROG DreamLeague – English stream – Day 3 – 103 463
2. CS:GO – DreamHack SteelSeries CS:GO Championship – English stream – Day 3 – 97 804
3. StarCraft II – DreamHack Open – English stream – 96 025
4. Dota 2 – ASUS ROG DreamLeague – Russian stream – Day 3 – 92 128
5. Dota 2 – ASUS ROG DreamLeague – English stream – Day 2 – 65 549
That's actually some pretty sick viewer numbers. Also I am so happy Dreamhack still supports the underdogs (in viewership) and doesn't jump on the LoL bandwagon! Thumbs up for sc2 and dota2!

It makes me so so happy, fnatic vs NiP was amazing.
The line to the Dreamarena at Dreamhack Winter was so freaking long, I'd be surprised if even half of the people standing in line got a seat. It was the first time for me watching CS since 1.6, but GO is just a much better E-sport. It has so much better spectating mode so it's easier to follow and the observers catch a lot more frags as well. The fact that it was two swedish teams (each coached by two of the biggest swedish 1.6 stars, carn and heaton) didn't really make it worse either
I gotta say those stats are comparatively much more understandable rather than what many other events seem to do when presenting viewer numbers. I actually think I understand all these numbers and can somewhat put them into perspective.

2 Events within 14 days though :/
iono, could be Moscow is a dota2 only event?
There are decent players in Russia, Moscow may make sense. Interesting that DH is not expanding more to the west (DreamHack Lyon for example for example). I'd expect Ukraine to be added as well - maybe DreamHack Lviv.
So impressed! Russian event! Finally, I would be here. Also with the cancel of necessity of visa with Korea, this might be much easier to participate here
Good stuff, good to see CSGO do so well, there were so many people watching it when there was so little space for it, the Swedish really love their Counterstrike, the prize pool was also quite large(and community contributed if I am not mistaken).
Interestingly enough LoL didn't make it to the top 5?Granted the teams were pretty mediocre.
So amazing, even more events. I hope they will all feature Starcraft 2. Planning so far ahead, as well, Dreamhack seems like one of the few companies who knows exactly what they are doing. GL HF to them next year!

The league tournament was SK without their biggest star (ocelote left) and a bunch of mid tier Euro teams. Not really surprising to see it get very little attention. Surprised at how well CS:GO did though I guess I underestimated how many people still watch.
Please be advised that all above numbers is Twitch only, excluding TV and Play numbers from SVT and TV6.
This is a welcoming change in an era where many organizations are willing to do anything to make viewer numbers look bigger on paper and adding in a lot of vague numbers with 0 accountability
I'm ok with a DH in Moswcow, even if there could be a more open country for it.
If the olympics can get away with a Winter Olympics, then DH doesn't deserve this type of attack!
What shocks me in these news is Portugal having 1,85% of the viewers.. how can it be possible when we are so few? Even ahead of Austria, Spain and Australia..
Im going to be in gothenburg at that time and would love to go to dreamhack as I am an American. I have always wanted to attend a dreamhack and this would be my only chance so I hope theyre having a tournament!

DH is in Sweden too so they should have the home advantage!
Since 6.79 hit they are the 5:th Dota 2 team counting the money at 35 080. Since the patch hit they also have the following stats: Team Matches W L Win % Alliance 86 ___ 62-24 _0.721 Compare to for example Navi with 67 390 in winnings. Team Matches W L Win % NaVi ___88__ 49-39 _0.557
They are still a top 10 team globally and top 3 Europe. They might no longer be top 1 globally, that doesn't mean they are performing badly now. Though Gosubet ranking still has them as number one based on rating.
i wonder what the difference at the stream view numbers is between "Unique Views" and "Unique Views (de-duped)". to me "unique views" somehow are already de-duped, because each IP is only counted once. but what is the difference? the de-duped metric is less than half of the non de-duped metric...
Didn't they say they were going to try a DH on a different continent? Was really hoping it would be a main stop instead of a side event if it even exists
Yes, but for next years events instead of past ones. Or just a list of games they have planned at the various stops along with the venue that is booked.
Dreamhack Moscow and Dreamhack Stockholm is a bit too close together imo. But then there's so many tournaments going on it's not surprising that they had to schedule it like this. Hopefully players won't suffer from fatigue and jet lag too much.

well SC2 is one of the premiere e-sports games. Blizzard, especially the SC franchise, is one of the founders of esports. SC2 deserves the viewers it gets, probably more than other games.
As a BarCraft and minor events planner, I appreciate Dreamhack so much for announcing their dates so far in advance. It's so professional and helps the entire scene so much, not to mention us little guys.
In summary it says that there will be a show match between a swedish pro and a international player. The players has not been revealed yet but it says they are former Dreamhack or other Big Event winners. Prize pool is 30 000 SEK. Around 4600 USD.
Since there was no thread for Dreamhack Bucharest I decided to post this here. Apparently at Dreamhack Bucharest there will be no SC2 tourney. Source: http://dreamhack.ro/2014/en/category/tournaments/
Hope it's not announced yet and it will actually be a SC2 tourney, because that was the main reason for me going to Dreamhack in my home town.
