Let's say an Oracle with the best proxy hit your base at ~~ 3:20 minutes, how are we (terrans) suppose to run after them? they melt marines like hellbats (pre-patch) melted workers....

Because it made the game stale and was overshadowing other aoe units? So they buffed one and toned down the other. It's not really rocket science to see what they are thinking. Just go and try the new tank, the guys on Meta(pro terrains included) said it was stronk.


it won't do shit against 30+ mutas. tanks are already strong but they allow the Z to set back because you cannot be as aggressive and they don't deal really well with regenerating muta. The mu wasn't getting staled either, zergs were just beginning to figure out how to play lategame vs 4M....


That's still stale since there's no variation from the Terran at all and the first 20 minutes of every single game are the same.

Which is why hopefully they'll continue to do changes like these to make mech a viable option or make bio less dominant.

I'd rather watch a Terran trying something new and losing than I would watching the same game I've seen 1,000,000 times before like a current TvP. Bomber vs Rain or whoever it was where he tried mech and lost was one of the most exciting SC2 games there's been in 2 years in terms of Terran players.

Same goes for Flash vs Fantasy when they both meched on Akilon Wastes or the game where Flash BC rushed against I think Fantasy on Bel'shir when it was first around.

Blizzard need to get rid of old maps, bring in more variety in maps as well as playstyles or they might aswell get the gravestone out.


mech is 1.000 times more boring than bio since space control is so limited, so you just blob and make your deathball. Or spam planetaries and turrets while building your air deathball this time. As soon as the map gets too big it's almost unplayable vZ/T (and always bad vP). They would have to revamp every T unit to allow for variety, bio is just a better option in 99% of the situations. At least if they could make marine/tank the best option in 2mu we would get the best out of both worlds.


Why do people keep rehashing this incredibly weird point.

It's only like that because mech is currently so weak. If Tanks were better there'd be better space control. Also the thing about big maps is a completely farseity and bigger maps actually favour mech, but nobody will like to admit it despite me saying over and over again why its true.


big map favours mech only if there is not much open space. The current mech builds in TvT/vZ are pretty safe vs timing pushes anyway. And you'll never get space control in sc2 without having a unit totally broken, things move everywhere way too easily. If the tank os marau you can get some, but until then...

I find it funny how at the OP Poll everyone seems to agree with the changes (except the Oracle speed/accel buff one) and yet in the comments below a HUUUUGE disapproval overall..

As for the changes: I think that Blizz is still knocking on the wrong door.. The WM needed nerf - fact, to make TvZ less lucky-intensive, but also - the mine needs some sort of buff other than splash-radius.. In other words - any sort of buff that doesn't affect Muta/Ling/Bane but affects other unit compositions, especially Protoss..

I like the fact that Blizz is currently looking on making mech work, as well as closer look on the Swarm-Host play, but problem is that Terran seems too weak ATM..

I dislike how the TvZ revolved around WM hits, but there should've been some fix instead..

I guess that what the other guys posted about the Muta-Regen nerf might have worked, sounds about right, though not quite sure..

Select just got attacked by 2 on his stream and he zoned them out with just marines. They are still made of candy glass. If anything, the speed buff makes me want to build the stargaze in base, since I can still get across the map in a reasonable period of time.

Well that's something I indeed approve and agree.. I'm sick and tired of Marines, and also surprised how aren't you.. Basically Marine/Marauder, but w/e/ - that's again Marines, right ?? Hell, you can even add Medivac to that, but that's still just basically Marines, only this time differently dispersed across the map and also healed..

Terran revolves around 1 unit too much and that's what needs to be fixed.. Mech is one of the ways to achieve that.. Perhaps sky-Terran play is another.. Do your pick.. Doesn't matter.. What matters is - make the game work and make the Terran race work that won't be as Marine-centric as currently is.. If you make a race revolve almost entirely on one unit, then you severely classify the race's abilities according to that 1 unit - i.e. - the race as a whole has the benefits and the drawbacks of that same unit..

What's even worse is the following: Early-game ?? - Marines, Mid-game ?? - Marines, Late-game ?? - Marines (oh yeah, forgot though - these things are 3/3 now, so it's a different unit.. ).. Like - the tech-transitions should be smoother due to any other unit than the Marine, it's just no good if one and only one T1 unit is most efficient (if you remove it's threats ofc.) whole game long..

The ultimate goal is to make Bio/Mech work, not just mech, still - to make that work, mech needs to be fixed first..

The siege tank change: 21 shots per minute versus the old 20 shots per minute. Who seriously came up with that change? I love the concept behind it, don't get me wrong. Awesome execution though! Flash approves.
Can we help spread the word and create pressure to get Rob Pardo to replace Browder as head of Sc2? Pardo led the team for broodwar, frozen throne, and wow/BC. We need to make this a thing before LotV development starts. Think about it.

Marines, Turrets AND viking at 3:30 So we have to open with 111, which is useless, and before we can even confirm it's a stargate, with scouting, it's already too late.

My problem with bio-mine was I didn't like the way it played out. Having to send small chunks of army and then move in just made it annoying on viewers since it seemed like nothing really mattered.

Ling bling muta vs tank marine was more fun was because battles could end decisively at key parts. While there were those ways for terran with widow mines, there were not for zerg and therefore it seemed stale and boring.

I appreciate a possible new meta-game greatly, it can be reverted or changed it pushed back it's just important for community to contribute.
