I honestly think It's because Soul without STX has no intention of going into League of Legends, so Kespa has no interest in them.
On the other hand Team8 was created from the scraps of MBC, WeMadeFox and Hwaseung Oz, 3 teams who disbanded. Aside from this they had great starpower (Jaedong) and potential at the time, it was also still BW.
STX is a single team and they just lost their best player to a foreign team in SC2.

He didn't win PL on his own. -_- Yeah, sure Winners League Formats certainly help in this position but when you have a lineup of Classic, Dear, Hyvaa, MiNi, and Trap? These guys got hot at the right time.
GOMTV and Kespa should hurry up with the negotiations and hopefully the eventual merge , because this is getting ugly . Just get GOMTV to stream Proleague and scrap GSTL or have it as some special event or something . Either way Korean scene is still oversaturated with good players . Hopefully Kespa can find sponsors for the teams .
At the beginnig people were optimistic that SC2 will surpass BW , but it seems really hard to envision that future now . I would be just satisfied if Kespa can maintain a 12 team PL just like they did in BW . But there are not enough sponsors , not enough popularity for the game . To bad that past mistakes by Blizzard and Kespa ended up making a game like LOL which in my opinion is way inferior as a spectator sport then SC2 not to mention BW , more popular .

I don't think that GOM will ever let go of Kespa now after all of ESF's team been bought by Kespa and the fact that Kespa teams embargo'd their leagues multiple in the past all the from GOM Classics to inchoation of SC2 switch. Their relationship will get dirtier and dirtier as time passes as this very well might be the last GSTL from ESF teams. In the future, Kespa will hold monopoly on all of the teams. How would GOM feel about that when ALL of their players are from Kespa to play in the GSL? How would the players feel when they have to choose between ProLeague/OSL and GSL? Chances are that one of the individual leagues (be it OSL or GSL) will meet their respective funeral to pave the way for the other.

You have no idea what you are talking about ^^ Kespa didn't buy anyone, they ran to them cause eSF is useless. There is no GSL/OSL anymore, only WCS KR - whatever they want to believe. Kespa won't do things like that again, cause they are no longer what they used to be, they are part of government now - if GOM would like to, they can (and imo will) join Kespa as anyone can now.

The point it that GOM will most likely get shafted away and revert back to how it was in BW days with Kespa maintaining all control with the game and GSL (Or shall I say "WCS Korea" hosted by GOM TV) might disappear as GOM definitely won't back down easily to Kespa. It sucks for SC2 fans as GOM have "apparently" superior production values than OGN (which imo is debatable).

Disagree. I think OGN will be more with LOL while GOM/SPOTV still with SC2. I think that new KeSPA rule that allows GOM to afiliate indicates something this way.

You never know the results of these affiliation.
Both side will play nice with each other as long there is a mutual benefit. But judging from the power of Kespa, anything can occur in the next couple of months. They did it with BW, and history might very well repeats itself. And I'm sure that now Kespa have governmental influence, Blizzard won't be on the side of a mere 5 team organization.

I think Blizz should be more afraid of KeSPA-RIOT deal. Because that 290.000 people today at LCS America was just... Interesting, i never watched lol, saw today because just want to understand what is this that people hate so much. I am impressed by the numbers.

What's even more dangerous for the SC2 scene is that with ESF being pretty much neutered and emasculated, who is going to protect the interests of SC2 in Korea now? Like you've said, Kespa ain't going to do it. And 290k? man that's some number.

I agree with you. Because, look at this generation of SC2 players. They went to SC2 because they had their heroes (The BW players), who was korean idols/heroes. Now think about the next generation. Their heroes/idols will be a SC2 player? Or a LOL player? Do you think they will choose to play SC2 or LOL? In the long term, i think the korean scene will be even smaller if this trends continue.
