I have no idea what you guys are whining about. The balance in HotS seems pretty damn fine to me (with the exception of a nonsensical ZvZ). Much better than it ever was in WoL. They propose some small changes aimed at making the game more diverse, and you guys respond so negatively. people are weird o.O

you mean zerg buff right? I the zvz change is just as much of a buff as it is a nerf to zergs. There is something off about a burrow buff though so you have a point about the zerg buff. I think the people who thumbs that one up don't really understand that it's not going to make zerg aggression any better early game with the exception of roach all ins.

Oracle change is good. Rewarding skill is a good thing and Oracles are weak anyway. What do they have 80hp? That's nothing.

the only oracle thing that would NEED changing, if anything is ONLY acceleration. they have fine move speed, but i feel their acceleration could be higher, only after thinking about it. i say test thoroughly, though because oracle is already very strong, especially if not prepared for.

I dislike wanting to have infestors play a bigger role in muta vs muta battles. Takes a lot of the mastery out of the matchup. I do think it needs to be fixed somehow, though.

Why does Blizzard have to make all ground based anti air absolutely worthless? The problem with Oracles is that they're too "all or nothing" like DT's are. A speed buff makes them more effective, but also just pushes them farther into that niche role.

Back in WoL, when I played Random, I was way ahead in a ZvZ because I got an early lead and went Mutas. I had like 20-something Mutas, turned away for a second to Inject Larvae, look back, and all my Mutas were caught by a Fungal Growth. 2 minutes later, the enemy just overruns me with a Roach army. It was so retarded.

Though in 1 game, a pro lost his entire Muta flock to Fungal in HotS. It was a good play, a tech switch when he was behind in Mutas. The guy looked away for a second, and a Fungal landed on everything and everything proceeded to die... To be honest, air units caught by Fungal should auto spread the same as if they weren't Fungaled (like when they are on Stop command).

And I don't know why everyone hates the current ZvZ so much. I LOVE it. Aggression followed by more aggression with more aggression. Do you all REALLY want to go back to turtling with Roach/Infestor? That was so incredibly boring. Aggression should be rewarded and encouraged, especially if it's with only portions of your army (or constant small attacks). Anything that breaks up the deathball and turtling gets a thumbs up from me. I mean, I did like watching TvT and considering the tactical and strategic positional control across the map, but then people got really good and passive and it turned into turtle into Sky Terran wayyyyy too often. Turtling=bad. Deathball=bad.

It 'could' be faster for cheese play.

Fast gas Z could get up drops if done ASAP, before T players could. It would make all kinds of new cheese available to zerg players. As negating a wall in by simply rushing drops could yield victories over greedy opponents with highly minimal defenses.

I don't know if that'd be good or bad but it'd sure be interesting.

I dont get everyone, i enjoy zvz more than anything right now. the infestors wars in wol all based on lucky fungals and pooping infested terran( keep in mind that by the end of wol it started getting more into the broods stage which was so freakin boring.

I honestly wonder what people would have said about units like lurkers, vultures, and reavers 10 years ago. A lurker could have completely tore apart all your marines and medics. A reaver could of reduced your whole mineral line nothing. A vulture could have made your life a living hell, let alone the mines.

I'm glad that they are buffing the oracle to be honest, a unit that is quick and can tear workers apart is needed (of course there should be drawbacks, like smaller HP/shield). The only thing I wish is that blizzard would buff other units as well, like the carrier, hydra, battlecruiser, corruptor and siege tank.

The range on the oracle is small enough that 2 static defense structures can cover the mineral line and both gases. I don't think it will be a huge deal.

I really don't think buffing spores is the answer to ZvZ mutas. That just means you either go muta, or you just turtle in your base against mutas and can't leave...

I actually think that ZvZ would be a really fantastic matchup right now if there was more micro you could do in muta vs muta fights. Everything else about the matchup is great, the positional / counter attack play and ground micro, but when it comes to the big final battle, it leaves much to be desired.
