SEA and China/Asia are in a hard spot and have to choose to join USA, Europe or Korea. So no love for them.

Weekend tourneys are not affected. GSL and OSL are not affected, other than they are working their schedules around each other and have new casting/broadcast partnerships. Team leagues are not affected. GSL and OSL are collectively WCS KR. MLG is making an "American GSL" for Americans. This is WCS NA. ESL is making a "European GSL" for Europeans. This is WCS EU. WCS KR, WCS NA and WCS EU provide players for WCS Finals. There are three WCS finals, corrisponding to three WCS seasons. Think of these like GSL seasons. Getting good results in the WCS finals gives you points. Additionally, other events like Dreamhack, Iron Squid and NASL, will also give you points. Top 16 in points after 3 WCS seasons are invited to the WCS Grand final are Blizzcon at the end of the year. All of the WCS KR, NA, and EU content will be broadcast free for 720p, every day.

I can't keep up with all of this information being thrown at us right now.

And what was the deal with GSL/OSL being casted on OGN? Is that what's happening? If so, very exciting. The added exposure will make it a little easier for teams to acquire larger sponsors.

A pretty popular sport in Europe. A lot of countries have thriving national leagues, but many get smashed in champions league. Seems like it could work very well. I hear ya, but I think we lack the intermediary motivation - no one wants to fight for their country in SC2. And it's a mistake to not be open to include existing and new LAN players.

It seems like they just wont all be WCS events. They need 4 finals for the Hot6 Cup (the new blizzard cup thing) http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=406011

Online play is so hard to hype now. Look only at how TSL4 kinda flopped.

And the price pool looks like they were thinking of the international, with the difference that the situation is totally different. TI was a tournament to promote a niche-game that wasnt played seriously but had the potential by bringing a price pool that would attract teams of similar games. Sc2 doesnt have rivalizing games, it is the only 1vs1 rts alive and is fairly well known in the esport-scene. It also is found out pretty fast thanks to a way bigger player pool at the highest level and the fairly slim amount of options.

The stars themselves are not region restricted. You don't have to watch only English players if you live in England. Exactly as in this new tournament format for SC2 where Korean stars can train in NA or EU. The only difference is that teams can split up over different regions in SC2.
