Yeah why have 2 streams broadcasting the same thing? I guess it's cool that you can choose casters, but OSL stream seems to have the short end of the stick right now, less then 1000 viewers compared to over 20000, even though they have a higher resolution.

I'm not sure about this....

On the other hand OSL and MSL had great history together, competing, having different formats, not quite the same champions (like July and Bisu), different storylines. The GSL = OSL paradigm is killing any rivalry between GSL and OSL that could be SC2 version of OSL and MSL (surprisingly OSL would have been the SC2 version of MSL...).

so what will be the first WCS europe event?
The upcoming dreamhack won't be offically an WCS europe event, will it? i think that the IEM events will be since they are organized by turtle entertainment.

any info?

after reading and reading and reading

everything is still so fucking stupidly confusing.

seriously tournament holders (providers whatever the word >.>) need to get together and get shit sorted out once and for all.

they need to decide whether or not to run each tournament SEPARATE with ones results obsolete in reference to another tournament entirely. or go tennis style and workout some sort of world wide ranking system.

because this half-half shit is just confusing to level 999414.

idk only my opinion.

Forever ZeNEX.

WCS Europe is it's own league, run by ESL, separate to IEM

IEM, Dreamhack, etc may earn WCS points for players towards qualifying for the yearly finals

That is what we are all trying to do, that is what Blizzard are doing with WCS. There will almost certainly be changes and refinements to the system - you can't make a perfect system straight away when putting together so many different competing systems and organisations, especially when things are already running or planned

You're also forgetting most of the OGN audience are watching it on TV. The stream is just extra. Absolutely loving having GSL on TV. Still feel a bit bad with how Gom seems to be getting shafted (GSL at Yongsan) and how the WCS logo will dominate every individual league from here on in.

edit: also giving the GSL and OSL identical formats and the stupid WCS logo diminishes the prestige of both leagues

"Players must pick what region they wish to play in, and are not restricted by nationality. It is possible for Korean players to choose to play in the NA/EU online leagues if they qualify."

Hah that's a disaster waiting to happen.

I really think that they should have tied the choice to play in another region with residency or at least some kind of restriction.
I want to be with those who share secret things or else alone.

I agree, cos otherwise lots of Koreans will choose to participate in the US region because it is easier to advance through.

Yep.

I am midly excited by this. It definitely streamlines tournaments and for someone like me who thinks there are way too many tournaments to the point that I've given up trying to follow SC2, this is an improvement.

However, allowing Koreans to dominate all the regions of the competition makes this boring.

Too much stuff. IEM and MLG must change their non-wcs tournament into invitational tourmanent with very few players AND cross-regions clashes in order to maintain the hype and avoid to saturate the market. THe whole thing is great but the "I organize WCS and keep running my tournaments without adpating" is silly.

And what about the sponsors ? I hope wcs eu will be sponsored by intel, wcs na by dr pepper, etc. . Otherwise its silly, its refusing money...
