The only people that would come over to do WCS NA are those who would never stand a chance of doing anything in GSL, these players really aren't that much better than the NA scene.

I wish this was actually something important... Overhype... It is concerning only the competitors not the mass audiences, people will watch like they have watched it before, what is the big deal exactly?

So MLG is dead now? No Koreans beside Polt/Violet at MLG anymore? Who cares to see alot of these terrible NA players try to avoid playing Polt+Violet?

Read, dude. Koreans can still go to MLG, which will run as its own tournament in a non-WCS affiliated portion.

It's like having several tournaments at once again, which I'm sure players won't be too thrilled about.

Well, with the better infrastructure and more planning, I think that people won't be too bummed if they can win one of the big LANs for WCS. Plus there might be pretty serious money at the end of that rainbow, potentially close to the non-WCS LAN?

No, MLG = NA WCS

No, MLG =/= NA WCS. MLG the company is running WCS the tourney, but MLG the tourney is not affected.

There will be no time for a non-wcs MLG! Maybe there is one Non-WCS MLG this year, but if they have to run 3! NA WCS this year...

Nice of you to already figure out the scheduling, you should inform Sundance about it.

This sounds almost like the LoL LCS system ?

I really like the LCS system for LoL, there's plenty of high quality matches every week. The regional skill differences aren't that bad from the spectator's point of view, the continental rivalries are generally more interesting, anyway. Also, if you know all scheduled matches beforehand, there's going to be a ton of time for preparation.

Still... The championships will be mostly a farce with the Koreans fighting amongst themselves. :/

Call it a hunch, but I think non koreans will be more competitive under this system.

Or they give up because all their spots are being taken by korean b-teamers using global play.

So low tier koreans can essentially skip the hellhole of qualifying for OSL or GSL to get into WCS finals by just joining a different region and have a much easier path to to the finals.

So any information on how long the ro16 of NA and EU will be? If it will be over a month or so that would mean Koreans would need to move to NA/EU if they want to compete.

All of the WCS matches leading up to the ro16 of each season finals will be played online during weekdays. MLG broadcasts everyday. So can IEM. They can definitely do this fine.

This is amazing news and Blizzard doing great things, only slightly sad for SEA scene but its so small and the ping shouldn't make the biggest difference playing on NA

We get weekly NA/EU/KR competition each season now ala NASL. On top of that, we still get the MLG, Dreamhack events etc. How is it overhype?
