People understand this, people! No but, that would require reading the thread and stuff, you can't really expect that.
Anyway I stayed up far too long today and my brain is melting. There is probably a bit more to come in specifics, but I am liking the general gist of this. I like the idea of results all-year building to some kind of climax, creates a bit of a narrative there.
The last WCS was kind of ruined imo by the Korean Protoss players having a good week at the office in the Kr qualifiers, and keeping out the Korean Zergs and Terrans. This way we'll be less likely to see that at least.

Does anyone have a clue how the WCS Korea works? Is it just off of Code S? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me to just be that.

There will be a split between the tournaments affiliated with WCS (e.g. MLG, IEM, GSL) and the tournaments themselves, which allows Koreans and foreigners to attend them without punishment or control.

At least players will get a few points from playing well in Dreamhack. Ofc. 2GD got his first entertainer gig at DH. Geoff's had a role at the last several DH's. It's by associated regardless of what product you prefer. IEM/ESL do have a perm studio and considering you have 8-11 weeks per season. You need the proper space and DH has always been a traveling show. I'm not a big fan of what IEM has done with their tournaments like the next, but they're still a player and have been ever since I can remember. Not to say DH doesn't have a well documented history because they do but I can see the reasoning behind such a decision and I'm sure DH will be involved in the foreseeable future. I wondered why they picked IEM ifront of DH and this actually makes great sense as to why. Great insight StarStruck.

I really like the LCS system for LoL, there's plenty of high quality matches every week. The regional skill differences aren't that bad from the spectator's point of view, the continental rivalries are generally more interesting, anyway. Also, if you know all scheduled matches beforehand, there's going to be a ton of time for preparation.
Still... The championships will be mostly a farce with the Koreans fighting amongst themselves. :/
Call it a hunch, but I think non koreans will be more competitive under this system.

It's like having several tournaments at once again, which I'm sure players won't be too thrilled about.

MLG the company is running WCS the tourney, but MLG the tourney is not affected.
There will be no time for a non-wcs MLG! Maybe there is one Non-WCS MLG this year, but if they have to run 3! NA WCS this year...

Good luck with that. Always trying to usurp somebody else's legacy.

Ok guys, from what I'm gleaming from Lo3, all of these weekend tournaments, the Dreamhacks, the MLGs, the IEMs of the world will still happen, and they will grant global points towards this that is not affected by region whatsoever. It seems like that WCS events will be separate from the weekend tournaments run by the companies, even partners. The WCS events are simply ran and produced by those groups, namely MLG and IEM. They will run WCS events, but their weekend tournaments will not be the WCS events themselves.
