Not true it seems. They can still go. Violet is in Korea atm by the way.

On the whole this sounds good.
Only thing I don't get regarding the Korean tourneys is the 2 english casts at the same time. Thats just gonna split viewers since its all on the internet.
Wouldn't it just make sense for Gom to handle their english stream, and OGN to handle their own english stream?

Are they going to post the points each player has then at each of these tournaments since that is what everyone is shooting for?

If you qualify for GSL, then you can not attend MLG.
So back to back MLG champion Life can't return to defend his title in Anaheim now?
so you have to pull a bison?

Adding foreigners to a league doesn't make it more prestigious. With this format, it's still likely that all the slots will go to code-s Koreans. I disagree. The Koreans still can only grab a little more than a third of the total points. Foreigners should do just fine unless the Koreans play cross region with latency. Not if Korean players are consistently winning the 3 season finals. But it's pointless to discuss this because neither of us knows how the WCS points are weighed across events. Good point. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm excited!

Exclusivity is a really big fucking mistake - the model to study is tennis, goddamnit.

You can't play in both GSL and the other WCS leagues so it is literally impossible for all the slots to go to Code S Koreans cause they will have to drop GSL...

Ofc. 2GD got his first entertainer gig at DH. Geoff's had a role at the last several DH's. It's by association regardless of what product you prefer. IEM/ESL do have a perm studio and considering you have 8-11 weeks per season. You need the proper space and DH has always been a traveling show. I'm not a big fan of what IEM has done with their tournaments like the next, but they're still a player and have been ever since I can remember. Not to say DH doesn't have a well documented history because they do but I can see the reasoning behind such a decision and I'm sure DH will be involved in the foreseeable future.

This sounds almost like the LoL LCS system ?
I really like the LCS system for LoL, there's plenty of high quality matches every week. The regional skill differences aren't that bad from the spectator's point of view, the continental rivalries are generally more interesting, anyway. Also, if you know all scheduled matches beforehand, there's going to be a ton of time for preparation.
Still... The championships will be mostly a farce with the Koreans fighting amongst themselves. :/

This explains why there hasn't been that many tournaments yet. They needed to wait since they basically re-structured the entire tournament system.

No, MLG = NA WCS
No, MLG =/= NA WCS. MLG the company is running WCS the tourney, but MLG the tourney is not affected.

People understand this, people! Unless there is no more MLG weekend events anymore, but I doubt that. Ahhh, this is good. As long as GSL/KR locked players can go to their weekend events I'm happy with this.
