Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything. |

Disagree completely.
That would mean every sport would be ruined.

Many would argue that every sport has been ruined, my friend. While I don't think bad of EG for having the resources to do this, I would like there to be some variety in my players too. It isn't as cut and dry as some people are making it.

Most American sports have salary caps, to keep the playing field more level and break up potential dynasties. Obviously a cap isn't viable for esports and won't be for some time, but there is certainly a debate over whether its better to have one or not.

I guess there are some valid points being made but unlike many sports, most of starcraft 2 is single player competition. It's not like all the players will be on one good team and that team will keep on winning. Also, if that means all the best foreigners are in one team, maybe that's good for training and we'll start seeing foreign domination. Just a thought.

There is no team in SC2 that has the market cornered on talented players. Players leave teams, teams disbands, and there's a lot of talent in Korea. I think most small teams just aren't willing or capable of shelling out a contract to keep a player like Stephano. I don't see why teams are entitled to keep players that they don't value as highly as other teams.
Edit: I know that you're not necessarily saying that teams are entitled to players, but that's the impression I get from a lot of posts on this subject. It seems like people are advocating for the team more than the players. I don't think a cap is even close to necessary at this point

Well, you can drop the "possibly" from the title now. Stephano spotted on Idra's webcam in the EG house during the Inside the Game broadcast.

Nearly every EG member has pretty much hinted at it, slipped up and mentioned his name, or just straight up said "Stephano" on purpose, and there have been other clues leading to such a conclusion (e.g. Stephano repeatedly practicing in the EG house), but there hasn't been an official announcement or statement made by EG that he has joined the team yet. I think. That might be because his contract hasn't officially started yet, or some other reason. Maybe EG is just super-trolling us too

EG is the best foreign team obviously, Liquid cant compete roster to roster, so why act like all the EG players are so terrible. Sheth all killed EG. Thats why i said roster to roster. There would be no all killing sir. lowut? I know this is 6 days after the post, but I just have to reply- Taeja, and Hero are better than anyone on EG easily, and the only one on EG who might have come close to taeja would be Huk in his prime... EG has nothing on Liquid, or CoL, or Fnatic, and is probably about even with Mouz now, too.

Why are people talking as if EG has bought all the best players or is going to? There is so much untapped talent in the scene already, people need to stop being ridiculous.

If you think about it most of EG can't compete with the best anymore. This is how it works, a player who is trying to make a name for themselves get on a good team who helps them grow. Once they start winning EG trys to buy them out with a big salary. They have to wait until the contract with the other team is over. By then the player has either passed their hotstreak/prime or once they get into the eg house their skill takes a dump or doesn't grow like the rest of the scene and they disappear from the scene. And then they buy the next big name to keep their numbers up to appease their sponsors.

For the people who don't already know (and aren't part of the 6000 other people already watching), Stephano is doing 2v2's with DeMuslim from the EG Lair right now on DeMuslim's stream.

Pretty sure at this point that the transition is confirmed, Stephano still living in the EG house and jokingly hyping RaidCall on Demu's stream.

Stephano is spending a lot of time at the EG house chances of his partnership with EG will most likely be announced soon.

Many are ruined.
I don't know many football (European) fans that think the current state of the game is very healthy and positive. Especially the older ones that have been around through the 80s / early 90s, or earlier when the game was much less corrupt on every level.

Would be so fun when this turns out to be an epic troll between EG and Stephano, and he'd be going to SK.

SK_Stephano sounds better than EGStephano
