07:06 KST - method linked here has been disproved here 10:54 KST - Find a full timeline of pro comments (including Spades) in the topic here. 08:47 KST - Summary: Accusations of maphacking have the potential to destroy a player's career if left unaddressed. Because of the potential consequences, we should be careful about accepting unproven accusations. The principle of 'innocent until proven guilty' should be applied here. That does not mean that there has been a conclusion about this case, however, which is why this thread remains tentatively open. Please discuss with caution and use evidence to back up your claims. Either that, or the MAJORITY of "pro players" hack like 100% of the time, which is why top players are so greedy; they know they can't be aggressive early because everyone else hacks and would see it coming from a mile away and crush it. I mean honestly, maphacker vs maphacker how would it play out? Expand expand expand macro macro macro, it'd be the only way to get ahead. Hey, you never know . . .

If you back it up with professional opinions first and keep everything reasonably quiet previous to posting whether he's a hacker or not. It can potentially avoid destroying an innocent person's reputation. Whether Spades is innocent or not is still up for debate, but whether his reputation is essentially destroyed with a lot of people is pretty clear. Thats tough because you have to choose what pro's you use; some could have a dislike for a person and would have a bias, in the same manner someone could like someone and have a bias. The only way to really go through with this shit is to have it aired out publically in the current SC2 enviroment. IF we were to get a players union of some sort (or any kind of governing body) for foreign SC2, on the other hand, there would be a place to direct these things prior to a public airing.

Spades complained about having problems with his mouse after game 1, but no, lets just assume his camera slipping or staying in one spot is a hack and not the obvious. If this guy didn't have enough faith in his claims to post it on his real account, how credible is this thread to begin with? Not to mention some suggestions are plain stupid. "Despite having a marine and a Barrack to spot any kind of drop, he doesn't see LucifroN's drop comming, however, he leaves all his hellions on his natural instead of having them around the map which would be the most normal given that you haven't spotted any drop comming." Yes, because you don't wait until your maxed when you play mech vs bio, you send your helions out alone to watch them get eaten by marauders. I'll look into it, but especially considering how late Spades often reacted to drops in game.. 5? Where luci went bio vs his mech, I certainly didn't see it while casting. I think it's highly inappropriate that so many people are jumping to conclusions. I'ma quote this because out of everything I read yours actually makes sense rofl camera lock for 7 seconds... ok thats fishy in one way but in a realistic way wtf is spades going to be doing for 7 seconds looking at areas he doesnt have vision of? Don't you think it would take a much much shorter amount of time? It takes me ~1 second to look at someones base and see what they have and I'm no where near pro level Anyways all of you are oblivious to the fact that if you have a map hack, you have a production hack as well. You don't need to look at someones base to know what they're making since it tells you what they're making on your screen /roll eyes The camera lock thing shouldn't be used as a main source of proof, what should be used is unit movement in response to what they don't see + unit countering. SC2 is not a hard game if you can see everything since units have hard counters, if someone keeps countering w/o vision then thats good evidence of hack

Spades has attracted a lot of attention, good and bad during his sc2 career. Yes he hacked in BW, this is confirmed. It is the past. He has not been proven of hacking in sc2 as of yet and I fully believe until a 100% conclusion is made by someone of some official status I.E. Member of a neutral client (TL or something similar) with no vested interest; everyone should keep the negative comments to the affirmative to themselves. Nothing is confirmed. Innocent until proven guilty...right? I have not looked at the replays yet because I'm at work but will be sure to do so when I get home. The fact that this article was allowed to be put out before a 100% conclusion was made is repulsive. Simply by posting this on TL Spades sc2 career (even if the hacking allegations are completely dismissed) is completely tarnished. You have directly affected his livelihood and means to generate income 1 post count "drolets". I sincerely hope you've done your research correctly. EDIT: As a sidenote It is my personal opinion that spades did not hack. Anyone at even a competent skill level with hacks can take down huge names. Take someone with TOP NA skill and give him a maphack? He wouldn't of lost.

Any normal, innocent person, would defend themselves vehemently with this type of accusation. You're just like "man! everyone is always down on me! guess ill retire after the next tournament!" Fucking defend your self if you're innocent, you look so bad just copping out like you are. Not everyone reacts the same, there are many people that would just get mad and say screw that if they are feeling unjustly treated, just accepting that they won't be able to convince people of the opposite. Just because someone defends himself with vigor doesn't mean he is or isn't hacking. In fact one of the best way to fool people is doing just that. Maybe he's sick of people calling him hacker (which isn't unplausible due to his background) and sees it like a fools arrend to try. This kind of logic is what labels innocent people something they are not. If you want to judge him, do it because of facts not some stupid psycho analysis.

Only if you leftclick the minimap a 2nd time your camera is sent there. Considering what I wrote above, this is also possible if he scanned the minimap, and his mouse cursor moved slightly down before the 2nd click on the minimap. When you scan via minimap your screen isn't supposed to jump to that spot at all, you have to click the minimap a second time to get your screen to the scanned spot and it's not unusual at all to not click in the exact center of your scan the second time (in fact, I'd say it's rather rare to hit the exact same spot twice). I hope this is rANDY's way of showing that people will blindly accept any proof that enpowers their point (even when it's blatantly false).

Note though that there is a significant different in camera pan reaction speed, among other things (I was watching at the slowest speed). At the same time the location offset is also significantly different. Hmm.... I"m not quite sure even. I'm going to go ahead with the testing. Won't be coming to any conclusions prematurely though.

I don't need to explain this because incontrol already did. He has nothing to lose defending himself. But bitchin' out and saying "oh no one will believe me! guess ill quit!" is really really really suspicious. He may not have shit for evidence right now, but copping out like that really doesn't help him at all. How do you not see this? I'm done talking about this.

I can understand it. If I would catch someone (big) hacking I would not want to present my account as a big target to the internet. Especially if I am someone more or less recognizable.

I am not expirienced with maphacks at alla nd so are most of the others posting here. I think we should be more carefull because this could ruin Spades whole career even if he was not hacking! Spades defense: I'm not hacking this is ridicolous Its pretty obvious hes gonna say no, its like asking someone who doesnt want to go to jail if he killed a guy when hes the only one that knows, he is gonna say no for sure
