He still has to play a shit ton to be a premier caster, but without the pressure of living up to the expectations of fans and the community to 'be the best', hopefully he'll enjoy the process more.
GLHF IdrA.
PS. Bring back IMBALANCED! LOL.

I think there would be a lot of value gained to have more interviews like this, pure E-Sports journalism at it's best. It's current news, it's exciting because so, and people can actually get informed about what is going on. Also the 1v1 format of the interview really helps it stay on track and not become a silly crossfire where the real issues and points get lost. Good job JP, thank you so much.

I am a bit sad he won't be competing anymore, but he has always been an excellent commentator both on stream and at live events. Really looking forward to replay packs and hopefully more commenting over ladder games.

im sure it will be clear in 24 hours or so that this will be the highest viewed content JP has put out in a while, carried by the idra storm. but this is an opportunity for jp to attract new viewers to his channel, but if he cant do anymore than be a wall for the guest to bounce their voice off of, then they will quickly drift away when the guest isnt as interesting as idra.

I disagree with the above post though. I like JP's style. I think he was digging deep enough. That's probably one of the reasons that he got the interview in the first place. Keep going JP and IDRA !

I enjoy JP. However I agree with the constructive criticism he got with that post. When Idra announced he wasn't going to be a player anymore but likely commentate. The immediate follow up shouldn't be. Well damn, that questions was a little further down my list. As that announcement from Idra, is likely the most captivating part of the whole thing.

Yes. I love Jeff Van Gundy's commentary so much it makes me miss him as a coach ![]() Van Gundy was the master of turning lemon players into play-off teams.

Ya I agree. One moment he says this is about a business/entertainment and then "anyone who comes to watch my rage is a fuck." Well, since his games -- as he acknowledges himself -- are not about quality but about entertainment they are also consumers of his product. Also you have Idra going "There was a lot of other stuff I said that should have gotten me fired..." how is there not a follow up of "So you knew you were in a danger of being fired?" or "So EG has been too lenient with you? "Do you wish EG had a more structured system of punishment for you so you were clear when you crossed the line?" What about "I see nothing wrong with leaving when I did"...why not ask -- at the very least -- "Why didnt you gg Polt?" But I think the reason why JP does this is because of his friendship with Idra. By going into an ultra-structured question and answer period with almost no follow up, JP maintains objectivity and at the same time Idra does get the last word so there is neither tension nor appearances of JP just covering his buddy.
