Personally I don't see too many Terrans either. When I've actually played in the past couple months (Protoss diamond here), the most common MU for me is PvZ, and I REALLY hate that one. :/ lol. I wish I played against more Terrans. I played Terran in BW, although the games are pretty different, I feel like I have a better understanding of handling Terran players than Zerg lol .

Simple, all the Diamon Terran are now in Masters!!!

Well i got some stats from high masters/gm from EU server since 1.1.2012 Protoss account: Total games 730 - 317 PvP (43%) - 246 PvZ (34%) - 167 PvT (23%)
Terran account: Total games 1157 - 461 TvP (40%) - 375 TvZ (32%) - 321 TvT(28%)
As you can see there are less terrans in highmasters/gm. And my protoss account is ~top50-100 gm and my terran is rank100-200 master(sc2ranks, eu), which means i play higher level opponents with my protoss account, so there are more protoss and zergs in top top top of the ladder.
Yes, i play a lot.

Sample size 15 too small .

Yea I've noticed i play TONS of toss players recently. Barely any terran players D: Guess the race got too hard for NA...and toss is super easy to play lol

Dark times for Terrans now, lategame is nothing to look forward to.

Around the mid levels of skill (check the SC2Ranks stats for gold through diamond) I think Terran is the most difficult race to play. It's harder to split marines than it is to a-move banelings, for example. Stutter stepping a marauder/marine force certainly takes more APM than having chargelots automatically pursue them.
Once players get the skills to macro and micro at the same time, Terran win rates, and thus their representation, pick back up.
I don't think it's necessarily imbalanced, just that it's hard to make the game equally difficult for all races at all skill levels.

I'm not really stating I think Terran is too weak per say overall. I added the sc2ranks link and it clearly shows Terran is the lowest played race in anything Gold through GM now. I'm concerned on the ratio shifts, I certainly do not want to play 60% of my games as TvPs but that's just me.
On a side note, I love your blogs.

They're all in grandmasters.

Ok so Protoss are fine against terrans, zergs are fine against terran, terrans are fine against terrans xD

Terran got too hard for me so I stopped playing. I just watch tournaments now.

We keep getting nerfed, TvP is a little hard late game and some people don't like TvT for how long it is compare to PvP or ZvZ. I'm guessing that's some of the reasons.

I think it was a case where Terran, at the beginning of the game, were the easiest to figure out how to play. They became the strongest, simply because people figured out how to play them first, and so they were nerfed to account for that. However, they were being nerfed at the same time other races figured out how to play, so it ended up 'uneven' for Terrans right now.
EDIT: Ah well, after having been sucked into BW for the last three months (trying to catch up on great games), I've been reading that it's not uncommon for years of inbalance in matchups before they are fixed. Maybe SC2 is just going through one of those?

I would say to look at KR master league and GM league for the next step in skill progression after NA/EU GM league. In Korea, terrans are a bit overrepresented in master and about even in GM.
At the end of the day, people aren't playing terran because they don't want to play terran. Since there were tons of terran in 2010, and far less now, you could say either A: people got bored of playing terran and switched or B: they switched to a race they feel is better.

Terran is a very multi-tasking intensive race, it requires excellent macro-mechanics and excellent micro simultaneously in order to really utilize the race well. Protoss has an easier time with macro (I play protoss, it's a little bit easier for us than it is for terrans, although not much), and zerg has a much easier time with micro (unless you're talking early game zvz). The lower your APM the harder it is to really play terran well, while Protoss and Zerg can do okay with lower APM (although APM helps them quite a bit too).
