Don't act like it is now impossible to use ghosts against Broodlords lol, you don't HAVE to use vikings, maybe add one or two vikings to compensate for the nerf, but in no way you need to use ONLY vikings or ONLY ghosts.
Storm is coming that cannot be avoided.

These are some very well thought out changes, nice!

Nerfing snipe slightly will be nice for late game tvz no doubt, plus making mules harvest the same from gold should fix that problem. The 'risk-reward' thing of gold bases is a good aspect of the game and now mules can't abuse it stupidly.

the range upgrade should be on, cybernetics core, but should cost alot like 150/150 or 200/200
fleet beacon is too much tech imho.

also snipe change is a huge buff in PvT

If someone saw Neastea vs Genius games, where Genius controlled Nestea's mutalisk numbers with phoenixes so well. I cant imagine how overpowered it would looked if phoenix has +1 range. O.o

I dont understand why people are complaining that snipe is now useless against broodlord infestor. I guess people was jsut too pampered and wanted one unit solve all.

Its a good change cause now ghosts kill infestors faster. So ghosts are still a must against broodlord infestor it just adds another micro dance between armies. Should the ghost be able to snipe the infestors, the vikings can swoop in for the kill on the air force of zerg, but should the zerg micro his infestors properly, he will be at an advantage. Its very similar to the HT/Ghost battle in TvP.

Regarding the phoenix change, the fact that it needs a fleet beacon probably just encourages more air play IMO. not so sure about this but phoenixs gonna be such a pain now =s

Great patch notes, I'm really looking forward to the changes in the lategame TvZ. Though I doubt the Phoenix upgrade will be used much out of the Fleet Beacon.

But let's see.

MVP lost in TvT's, most due to his CTS problems flaring up. Jjakji lost in TvP's, but these Terran nerfs do nothing in that matchup, as others have stated. Gold bases are already non-existent in the GSL, and Snipes actually do +5 damage to many Protoss units now (Terrans only snipe Templars anyways...EMP is more effective for everything else).


Sniping zealots wasn't the worst thing in the world you know...

As for gold bases, the thing is they do exist in a bunch of ladder maps...

The simple answer is don't overmake. The more complicated asnwer resides in what you have to do in order NOT to overmake vikings. Just scout hard and often.

This is going to make Terran even more micro intensice (having to control vikings) which is great at the top leve, but lower league terran players are going to dissapear. Which isn't a good thing

it's +2 range. but you need a fleet beacon for it

It probably doesn't affect Graviton's casting range.
I'm curious to see how this extra range will work. You can even kite the fucking 2-3 corruptors Zergs could mix in their mutas ball, sounds good to me.

Buffs/nerfs are only handed out if Blizzard deems necessary and I think Terrans are lucky with how long Ghosts have gone without a nerf. The problem here is that balance is (obviously) centered around the pro-gamers, because they make the fewest mechanical errors.

You can't just give Terran ten extra buffs just because gold Terran players might have a tough time. Then we would see Terrans winning *every* GSL instead of only half of them (lol). The game would be even further away from balanced.

A helpful thing to keep in mind is that the lower level of players should worry less about balance issues and more about their own mechanics. Getting your macro down, not getting supply blocked, and having a decent unit composition are all far more important in the lower leagues than the fact that Snipe is getting nerfed. It's about a million times more important.
