Terrans have to change their play-style finally. What a shame.

This change will be good for all matchups and should yield some awesome games in the coming months as progamers adjust.

what about the new (mass) raven late game O.O HSM is pretty sick. Oh wait terran never discovered the raven


Hsm is strong. But it isnt viable in a high level game. 125 energy, 200 gas per raven and the upgrade for hsm. If your going to mass them and have enough energy for HSM your going to need to get the raven energy which is more gas. So your losing all of this gas that you could have been spending on upgrades, vikings, medivacs, tanks most importantly. Not to mention it means you need another starport if you want to make vikings or medivacs, so that is another 100 gas.

Another problem with the mass raven style is that when you run out of energy you are completely useless. So you have 1 huge push that has to put you in a position to win the game or you lose. The time it takes to build up 125 energy again means that you are too susceptible to a counter attack if you don't kill them. Even Idra on inside the game said something along the lines that ravens were not viable but hsm was strong.


pretty convincing points, but i don`t get the gas problem. Terran never has gas problems because only the raven is gas intense. Terrans always have overgas in the late game. Why not turteling and switch to raven.But im not the pro just suggesting some things


Because Ravens spells cost sooo much Energy that they are out of Energy so fast . 50 , 100 and 125 for the Spells and they only have 200 Energy . And without Energy Ravens are useless if you don't need the detection.

Yeah I think the upgrade being on Fleet Beacon is a little too far away, remember FB costs 300/200 and the actual Phoenix upgrade will probably be like 100 gas, it's gonna be pretty hard to get to that before Mutas ruin your day. I think putting it on Stargate would be better or maybe even Twilight Council?


I wish they would just put the Void Ray speed upgrade and Phoenix +range upgrade on the Stargate x_x

Getting back to "dominance"... it doesn't really exist any more, Jjakji and MVP have won four GSLs combined and both got eliminated in the ro16.

And Nestea has won 3 and yet he's out now too? Good players lose sometimes. You don't see Flash winning EVERY tournament, do you?

The reason it is done every day is because how difficult it is, and now will be even more so, to beat any other race in late game. So now people will probably hate terran even more, even though they are getting weaker and weaker, so have to resort to more drastic measures.

I'm not gonna lie, I three rax all-in vs protoss every game (gold league lol) since I know that there is a 90% that if my attack fails, I will lose to late game protoss death ball. Hence the pull workers all-in. Lose it or win it, right there on the spot.

When was the last time Terran was balanced?

Buffs/nerfs are only handed out if Blizzard deems necessary and I think Terrans are lucky with how long Ghosts have gone without a nerf. Remember they were even buffed with a reduced gas cost but their power was never brought in line with that buff. Now I think Snipe scales nicely with how easy it is to mass ghosts (at least at the pro level).

All of this would have worked with infestor nerfs or ghost cost decrease but fuck, this shit is broken.

Aren't Phoenixes going to be able to pick up workers from waaaay far away from the mineral line? I am afraid of them phoenixes avoiding my spore crawlers and still picking up workers.
Storm is coming that cannot be avoided.

Aw, I liked having two possible choices to deal with brood lords. O well, back to rock paper scissors broodlords = make vikings and pretend they arent flying colossi. =\

phoenix change will only benefit those with great multitasking and are you able to kite // macro back at home, which i dont mind. i think a better fix would be to give them some sort of reduced bounce or splash damage like mutas have. i mean its not like they can just move command to a mineral line and kill shit you have to individually pick up workers.

I dont think it is possible to stop turtle mech which transitions into ghost/mech with a planetary on every base past the natural and missile turrets as needed. There is simply nothing you can do to it unless you are in a position to trade as well as you can and then remax, which takes a long time, and is completely all in if you attack, remax and attack again into planetaries.

The simple answer is don't overmake. The more complicated asnwer resides in what you have to do in order NOT to overmake vikings. Just scout hard and often.
